Yeah, I'm out of town for a week (ski trip!) but I'm glad this got out before I go. Enjoy!
Tonight I'll try to write up a quick recap to help with the months of forgetting, but we tend to remind ourselves of things a lot while playing, which helps. I can also answer questions!

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
Previously, on Let's A Mario Cortex...
Jumbo Rezcow, an immigrant from the Koopa Kingdom, was a brand-new captain and Jakey Boy, Caesar, and Boolina were his rookies. We were investigating a weapons shipment that was supposed to frame the nearby kingdom of ASMT and start a war or something, we aren't really sure. We ended up in the debt of the League of Janitors, a spy group. While smuggling some eggs for the League, we killed a bunch of yoshis. Boolina seemed to turn on the rest of the group, selling us out to the cops, then fleeing with her father, the head of the Mafia. We are no longer cops (except in spirit).
In order to beat the rap, the rest of the group ended up even more heavily in the debt of the League of Janitors. Jakey Boy decided to get his cellmate Derryyll out of prison too, and get his friend Carlos (currently left hiding in a cave hideout nearby) out of trouble with the League, so he especially owes them. We were joined by George, a detective who had been investigating us, but was now working alongside us for the League (for reasons unknown). Also Sharon, a League associate assigned to keep an eye on us and not much else.
The Leage of Janitors tasks us with seeking out the weapons shipment in ASMT. All we know is that the shipment is supposed to pass through the House of Turner in two weeks (from the day they got this job), to fake its origin. We are also supposed to kill the head of ASMT's chapter of the League of Janitors. Caesar also hopes to find his long-lost sister in ASMT.
On the way to the coast, we ran into Kamek, a high-ranking dude from the Koopa Kingdom, and went through some ruins where Rezcow became heavily wounded. We arrived in a coastal town named "Pleasantville Port Town Pleasantport Happy Ocean Town USA :) ", where we saw lots of koopas and other Koopa Kingdom species, but only quick glimpses of Toads hiding scared in their houses. Suspicious, sure, but we were there to get medical treatment for Rezcow, so we just went to a clinic. Our story continues as Rezcow and George are put unconscious for surgery.

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
I obviously left out a ton. I tried to get more detailed for more recent things, since for old stuff, usually we'll be reminding each other of it out loud as we play.
If anyone has any questions, or something they vaguely remember and want a refresher on, please ask!

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
Aww, thread is so dead. ;_;7 Well it was a fairly uneventful episode, I suppose (besides the boatloads of damage and SWEET TATS that everyone got). But now that we seem to be back on schedule, it'd be nice to see the conversations pick up again. Thanks to Ditocoaf and everyone else for their hard work, and for being all-around cool peeps!
As for the call for more fanart, I don't want to come off as bragging, but I don't know if I'll be delivering the same "caliber" of art that I used to. There's no proper reason for that so I won't sit her and make excuses for myself, but big fanarts like the piranha plant fight scene are kind of a big time commitment for me! Might just draw more simple pictures on paper from here on out.
If anyone has any ideas for particular scenes that they'd want to see drawn out, it might spark the creativity among all the Cortex artists here a bit more. Not necessarily posing this as a "give me requests and I'll draw it!" kind of thing because I'm not really promising anything, but I'll definitely consider it. Plus, I'm sure some of us could use a refresher of the more funny/notable parts of the game thus far.

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
well I mean to be honest, yeah, something like the big plant scene isn't the kind of thing that happens super often either.
not to say that... other 'big' events won't be happening in the future.. ?!?

Preview from the far future: In tonight's session, Caesar tries to nail down the political and supernatural web of intrigue that we've been plowing through indiscriminately. (censored to prevent spoilers)

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
While we may be excited about what's happening to us now, we're also excited for what's coming up soon in the podcast. The worst part of not editing for all this time was delaying sharing a certain series of events that's drawing very near.

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
So it turns out if I give myself an entire day to edit (along with a few other small "things I should be doing", like going on a run and apartment chores) I put it off until way late anyway, then there are computer problems, and then while waiting ages for my desktop to restart with some windows update I fall asleep.
I'll finish what's left after school this evening, episode tomorrow. Gonna try to just learn a lesson from this and make good.

Re: A Super Mario Tabletop Thing
By the way, I missed the self-imposed deadline this post was responding to ("First week of january" became "january 20th") but I still remember it:
freakin whatzit wrote:so i drew a thing, but i think i'll wait until the next episode finally comes out to post it. partly as a little celebration thing, but mostly to add even more pressure. it's pretty fantastic and reveals the truth that caeser's been hiding ALL THIS TIME!
please look forward to it
