Is there supposed to be an executable in the executable?

Re: super cat planet! (1.0)
Yeah, that's just how GameMaker Studio compiles it. I tried opening a completely new test project with 7-zip and it's the same case there.Grounder wrote:Is there supposed to be an executable in the executable?
There's also the option to just compile it into a folder, but I just use the Single Runtime Executable because reasons.
EDIT: Imma recompile it into a folder just cause people are telling me that's better.
Download link should be changed in a minute.

I'll start downloading this soon. :D

Saying how many there are would spoil it! There's a hidden thing in-game that tells you how many are left uncollected, though.Rusbojis wrote:how many black cats are there?

Re: super cat planet! (1.0)
Loving this so far! Just a note though, I've managed to get myself stuck by running into a switch instead of pressing it.

You can't fix scrubs, but you can fix bugs.arabsalmon wrote:when is the next sedron patch that fixes the part where he's a scrubsedron wrote:Loving this so far! Just a note though, I've managed to get myself stuck by running into a switch instead of pressing it.
It doesn't really affect much but I fixed it anyway, so you can either hit buttons from the top like a normal person or download 1.0a and keep living your ground-loving lifestyle.

Re: super cat planet! (1.0a)
I've been playing it for a few hours and I'm loving every second of it. Very frustrating though :V. (I just suck).
Also is the game supposed to crash when I do "Quit Game"?

o.o nope. thankfully it saves when you go back to the menu as well as when the window closes so you won't lose data hopefully. (it saves when you close it via the X too)XerX wrote:I've been playing it for a few hours and I'm loving every second of it. Very frustrating though :V. (I just suck).

I've been holding out for Super Cat Planet Turbo, personally, but it's great that they're finally bringing over some of the newer revisions.

Also here's a gif of what getting past it looks like:
I recorded it a while ago but I figured I'd post it anyway
Re: super cat planet! (1.0a)
I think i made the game intentionally harder for me to play. My keyboard ghosts up+left+space but not up+right+space for some reason.

Re: super cat planet! (1.0a)
Yeah, that's a pretty common problem with keyboards; arrow keys + space take up a lot of data relatively, and you can only allow so much at once, so Up+Right+Space still goes under the limit, but they keycodes for Up+Left+Space goes over and one of the keys doesn't register. Try binding Jump to X and see if that works.tangeruse wrote:I think i made the game intentionally harder for me to play. My keyboard ghosts up+left+space but not up+right+space for some reason.
Speaking of which, I made it so the options cat comments on binding weirder keys, like caps lock or windows. I added in names for pretty much every key on my keyboard, but I'm not sure if it'll be entirely accurate for some of the weirder keys.

Maybe a page on a website like gamejolt or rpgmaker.net would be a good idea for sharing this game with more people. I've discovered some nice platformer games from those too, but I'm not too sure on how the details on sharing games that way would work. The original Cat Planet was made for ludum dare, if I remember correctly.
