I feel like outdoing MaGLX1's post game would be tricky... At least as far as surprise twists go..
Why do I suddenly feel inspired to consider adding a sort of save state to SMBX... But that would probably be a bad idea and encourage kaizo nonsense too much.Horikawa Otane wrote:Well yes, and now I'm holding MaGL X2 hostage until you do a save-stateless one-life LP of the entirety of What the Hell.raocow wrote:you... you resurrected gaston through the harvard necromancy department and made him do a level ;_;

Because it's acceptable to kazoo simply because of save states >w>Rednaxela wrote:I feel like outdoing MaGLX1's post game would be tricky... At least as far as surprise twists go..

heck, an IWBTG/Super Meat Boy-esque style of game could be made with instant warps and spike decorations in "pure" vanilla SMBX (given custom graphics can be seen as vanilla)

It's cool to see something like that in action! I'd like to know how they got the NPCs to drop spawn when entering the warps.FrozenQuills wrote:This has been done before by Imaynotbehere4long apparently (with custom graphics)...Dog In Da Grass wrote:Because it's acceptable to kazoo simply because of save states >w>Rednaxela wrote:I feel like outdoing MaGLX1's post game would be tricky... LunaDLL most likely. It's easier than ever with LunaLua's spawnEffect function.Dog In Da Grass wrote:I'd like to know how they got the NPCs to drop spawn when entering the warps.

Considering they almost ran out of events, there's probably a hidden moving layer for every single spike that's shown when the player touches it. Tedious, but totally possible.Willhart wrote:Tower of Biased don't have lunadll yet. It's something else.Hoeloe wrote:LunaDLL most likely. I'd think it's more likely that they are either all on the same downward moving layer, or they obey gravity. The spikes would not reset without some kind of spawners. Each spike might require it's own event though.FrozenQuills wrote:Considering they almost ran out of events, there's probably a hidden moving layer for every single spike that's shown when the player touches it. I just replayed my magl and mafab levels for the first time after submitting them, and my hype is completely gone...
Re: MaGL X2 Discussion (Final-Final Count: 272 Entries + 31 Bosses!)
You should have probably played them at least once before submitting! :o

Your hype will be back when the LP starts xD Or at least when the judging is near completion. Don't lose faith!FFR wrote:I just replayed my magl and mafab levels for the first time after submitting them, and my hype is completely gone...

Just speculating here, but I think that if I'd made a boss I'd have just ignored whatever gimmick I was given and thrown a Pokey Joe at the player and maybe some text to give a "story".

I'm just as hyped to see everybody elses' levels as my own at this point. So many "my level is lame" comments that I can't wait to see which ones are legitimately awesome ('cuz you know they're out there).
I'm probably driving right now.

Only if this will lower the universal difficulty of the contest by at least 301%, not including MaFAB submissions.Horikawa Otane wrote:Okay guys real talk.
How about I replace every submitted level with murder death zone place and then release the game?
I'm pretty convinced of doing this, but if you want to convince me otherwise I am listening.
