Well, he started playing as Azazel, and within the first 20 minutes they had already raised $1000 and as I was typing this one person alone donated another $1000. Also someone said if he finds the cancer trinket and drops it on stream they'll donate $350.

Nope, I got it in the exact order I intended. Maybe it wasn't 70ºC here but it sure felt it to me. (Anything above 60ºF/15.5ºC is actually too warm for me.) I'm the sort of person you'll find out doing work in the snow who'll get too warm and remove their coat.

Recently I recorded myself doing a Lunatic practice run of stage 6B of touhou 8 (and dying 2 cards from the end) and today I managed to beat 2 of Nue's spellcards

Does this mean that after a long time of not playing touhou, I have improved at playing touhou?

While it's not Touhou with some other games such as Guitar Hero and Audiosurf I've actually fairly often found that after playing a lot and then kinda plateauing in skill that taking a break for awhile then going back to it I quickly increased back to where I previously was skill-wise and could typically improve a bit more too.

as long as you always play something slightly more difficult than you're comfortable with you will never plateau in osu

just don't waste time trying to FC or SS songs if you want to improve

That's how most really hard things in video games work. Sometimes if you've thrown your face at the wall too many times, you can take a break and then the next time you'll come back you'll do it on your first try.

My theory is that taking a break gives enough time for the beginner's luck metre to reset.
