Walking back from a bank holiday pint in the sun I decided to take a detour and found a new pub.
The pub was a bit grim on the outside, a lower class/working pub type of place but I figured I'd give it a try anyway. Nothing ventured, nothing gained; it might have been a hidden gem.
Upon entry it was obvious that the outside reflected the inside and this was no hidden gem. Looking over at the bar there were the generic lagers and that was your lot. Not even a hint of ales.
People had looked when I entered so just leaving seemed impossible. I strode over to the bar and ordered a Carling (I don't like Carling but it is usually the cheapest)
"How old are you?" Asked the barman. For some reason I blurted out 18 when I'm 24. I reached for my ID but the barman said he didn't need to see it.
With the pint poured I handed over some change to be told I'd given less than was required.
I quickly brought out more change from my pocket but fumbled and scattered it across the top of the bar.
With the barman paid I took the pint I didn't want in the pub I didn't like and sat in a corner alone using my phone for skype to pretent I had people to talk to.

Just got back from an anime con. Haven't followed anime in a while, but still had a lot of fun. Some really good costumes and fun games were there. The masquerade was somewhat disappointing, but it made me want to get back into cosplay. Should probably start sooner rather than later.
