That's not the same song. But if you're referring to the musical style then it is similar I guess.

Man what is the deal with those jabbering forks.

Donkey Kong country had some of the best CGI sprite graphics in a time when the other thing using cgi was reboot which has not aged well (toy story came out a year later)

What dkc really has going for it is the wonderfully smooth animations. Sadly I cannot find any good animated spriterips to show this, so please settle for these things I made in gifcam.

Dogg, look at my avatar. Do you not think I may already have known that. Come on dogg. Come on dogg. Come on.

I was simply enquiring as to the nature of the talking forks. Where did they come from? Where are they going? What are they talking about? We may never know.

Oh, right, she's in that legends game I don't have the money to buy right now (also screw installing Uplay). Also they're forks, prolly talking about food or something.

Well, today's stages were both pretty great. When world 7 ends and Horikawa asks the immortal question, these two will definitely be a part of my favorites list.

The ice stage (I can never remember the names, curse me) looked hard, but still fun. The Firebrands all over the place were hilarious, too, especially the dancing one on the elevator. Hah. But I take exception to the freezing water gimmick. Water *expands*, not *shrinks* when it freezes! Therefore, I give this stage a 0/100 in terms of scientific accuracy. Would not play again! Also, the fact that you could get "stuck" in the frozen water blocks was kind of a problem.

The second stage... oh man. Loved the aesthetics. Not as much to say about it as the first stage, but that was a genuinely clever play on the level name. The gag at the end was hilarious, too.

By the way... minor trivia about my stage I feel like pointing out, in case anyone cares.
The random items in the "boss fight" were:
-Magicite Shard (Final Fantasy 6)
-Green potion item (Super Mario RPG)
-Triforce (Kirby Super Star Ultra)
-1-up (Megaman series)
-Mid-Tank (Advance Wars 2; suggested by Fogel)
-Money Bag (Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance; suggested by another of my friends)
-Basketball (some SNES game I don't recall at the moment)
-Mini-house from town models (Soul Blazer)
-Slime (Dragon Quest... 5, I think? Maybe the SNES remake of 3? I forget offhand. It's a slime, at any rate).

The other items in the stage were...
-Coin: Blue diamond (Aladdin SNES)
-Dragon Coin: Red diamond (Aladdin SNES)
-1-up: Blue jewel (Goof Troop)
-Fairy medallion: Red jewel (Goof Troop)
-Mushroom: Mushroom (Lost Vikings 2)
-Fire Flower: Torch (Lost Vikings 2)
-Ice Flower: Wand (Lost Vikings 2)
-Leaf: Bat wing (Lost Vikings 2)
-Moon: Treasure chest (SaGa Frontier) - This one wasn't shown, because raocow missed the Easter egg.
-Key: Some kind of amulet or something (Ultima 7 SNES)
I didn't change the Tanooki Suit or Hammer Suit icons. I had thought about doing so, even though they don't appear in the stage itself, as a sort of "The Dev Team Thinks of Everything" thing for anyone who happened to enter the stage with either in their item box, but I couldn't find anything that fit.

Also, the tileset was all from Lost Vikings 1... including the palm trees, raocow! :P

Yeah, all pointless info. But hey.

Oh, and I'm glad you like my avatar, raocow. :D

It was transforming water. Sure, it was transforming into ice, but once you add (potentially) magical transformation into the mix science can go eat a ham.

Maybe DKC is the kind of thing that looks great in motion but not in still images? I wanted to post some DKC2 screenshots and gush about stuff (this is a game I really like, if you can't tell :v ) but [besides being too lazy/occupied to do so right now] I guess it's a possibility. I dunno.

I Hate Transforming Water When it's Cold Like This was super jazzatronic!!
Wait, That's Not How It Happened a little 'yeah it's okay' compared to other recent levels; not that it's bad, but like more could have been done (I was almost expecting a Rashomon-esque thing from the title, if that's a thing that could be pulled off).

With a literal use of the word "obscure", yeah. But what he meant is that, when backgrounds are just as detailed, just as saturated, and just as bright as the important foreground objects, it feels "busy" and cluttered. It's harder to visually separate one thing from another, and harder to parse the important actions on screen.

It would be easier to find if it was at the end of the "Episodes:" list.

DKC series had some really good graphics for its time. There were no games with detailed graphics like this.

Yeah I don't need to restart it, it's just that this video took a LONG while to actually upload and process because of the length, and all the fastfowarding (fastfowarding makes the filesize bigger because there are more... 'different' images, so to speak). And that bit in the snow, and everything.

And since i close at work I woke up fairly tonight!

This all conspired to make a video that should be availble... now.

I'm posting this here (as well as in the video comments) because I'm a few days behind with my morning cup of raocow- and thought that because of this, very few people would end up seeing my post.

This last level, (Starting at 15:42) reminded me of a quite unusual SMW romhack that I can't remember the name of, hopefully someone can help me!? I think that maybe this level just reminded me of the hack because of the quavers- (musical notes) this hack was very heavily music based... I remember you had to collect a rope at some point (and a bomb??)... I don't think said hack was ever completely finished, which was/is a travesty, as it was really, really good fun and some of the asm and gimmicks were really well made.

While I was racking my brain, trying to think of the hack's name- 'Note Luminosa' popped in there for some reason, which is, well, something completely different, (what a doufus!) but maybe it had a similar name?

Please help me out if you can! It's driving me crazy!!

Thanks in advance!!

This drink requires a big cup to experience it. Mario took a sip, while Luigi just chugs down the rest of it.

"It's a SMB2 Level, Except Way More Monumental" Is one level of first half horizontal, second half vertical: Monumental indeed. That second star really leaves no room for error, especially at the vine and koopa part, and the lack of midpoint really doesn't help.

I liked that level overall. It was very dense, and for the most part, wasn't TOO saturated (except for the end there with all the freakin' hills in Vertical Town). I think the "destroy the wall with bombs!" section early on really broke the flow of the level, though; personally, I feel one or possibly two explosions are all you should ever force your player to go through in a section that the player will have to repeat multiple times when looking for secret exits or even just dying before the very far-placed midpoint.

Also, the music sounds really familiar, but I just can't place it...
