Incase you haven't read the wiki,I found out Out of Season uses music from NSMBU. Gonna have to change the music in here, though I'm not quite sure with what yet. Some ideas? Thinking probably the SM64 Snow music in the Devkit.

Looking at the base SFX files they all peak at about -10.7 dB, give or take a few tenths of a decibel. coin.mp3 peaks at -8.1 dB. Some of Kashkabald's other SFX are similarly unbalanced: do.mp3 peaks at -5.1 dB for example.ztarwuff wrote:I see, well I'll leave it to the level author.

Today I'm going to work on relevelling Kashkabald's SFX so they're the right volume. I'll also go through SAJewers' suggestions and assign them to particular sounds and relevel them if necessary. I'll also make new SFX where I already have appropriate stock FX available: glass breaking for Mother Brain's container, for example. I also thought that since we've radically changed some enemies we should change their sounds. For example, Birdo's now a robotic toaster thing, so we could change Birdo's spitting sound to a toaster sound. I'll see if I can find a good sound for that.
If this all sounds terribly pompous and domineering, I should also mention that I'm acting on SAJewers' instructions here.

Just checked and I definitely did. The problem might be that most SFX start at the peak volume then rapidly decay but the Grow effect has a relatively constant volume. I was also thinking that Link having separate SFX for his actions made sense in SMBX because he was very much a bonus "not really supposed to be in this sort of game" character. Sheath, on the other hand, has just as much right to be in a Demo game as Kood or raocow do, so there's less rationale for her having separate SFX. Do other people think it would be a good idea to replace Sheath's SFX for getting hurt and dying etc. with copies of the other characters' SFX for the same actions?
