I'm excited. I also feel bad for bringing this up to raocow so many times. Mixed feelings. Feeling good.

Oh, and that leaf game looked pretty boring, although I suppose it fit the qualification of tranquility.

I wonder how many of the results will actually be about tranquilizing bears or your mother-in-law?

Here's hoping most of them.

For tonight's leaf game, I love how raocow can fail to completely grasp the core mechanics of a game, and yet make it look like it's the most awesome thing to play ever.

Now let us relax...

And be.

That leaf game does actually have an ending, surprisingly...
If you get your gravity level high enough (it takes a long time) then you get a brief cutscene of your leaf floating up into some overcast clouds and the game just quits to desktop. Way anticlimactic.

Also I hacked the scoreboard

Space leaf.
If VIP 5 is any indication, raocow is going to hate me for that comment.

I really liked the æsthetic and broad conceptual idea of that game, but I was severely disappointed to see that it turned out to be yet another one of those blasted "repeatedly perform a very simple action and save up for endless upgrades" games. Does anyone actually like these games? It seems sort of a lazy way to try to squeeze a lot of game playing time out of an extreme thin gameplay idea. Yet they're everywhere on the internet these days, and usually large indistinguishable aside from their respective form of exterior polish.

Playing a shallow and repetitive game can make playing a fun game more fun, because it's not that shallow and repetitive game. Also, sometimes these kinds of games can be legitimately fun whenever the core gameplay is strong enough and yet flexible enough that the upgrades have a meaningful impact on gameplay.

The main problem with games like these is that they often have no replay value. The game looks nice though. I kind of wanted to play it after watching raocow play it.

Fixed the title for ya.

Anyways, Leaf raocow is rather introspective. I wanna hear more of Leaf raocow.

If you look at the title of his post, you'd see it's "Tranquilising our Evening Routine". Though he probably should have put it in the body of the post, because no one ever looks at a post's title.

I like them if the gameplay is fun, although in those types of games I really need a story and a definite "ending" to work to, to really care about it.

I don't hate that kind of game. There are some upgrade games that are good, and a lot more that are bad, but that's true for anything (though the bad:good ratio might be more in this case, I don't know). My favorite is Upgrade Complete, which raocow played a while ago in one of those "random game week" kind of things. It pokes fun at the concept by making you upgrade everything about the game (title screen, graphics, sound, etc.) instead of just your weapons, and it's fun to see how that stuff changes as you progress.

This leaf game doesn't look super fun in terms of gameplay, but I'd play it anyway. It seems very relaxing, and sometimes that's all I want out of a game.

You should give Coinbox Hero a roll, then.

It takes something like an hour to get to the end, but it's totally worth it.

44m, 30s I win.

You shouldn't spoil the game! :o
So yeah, that game has absolutely no replay value. I beat it once, that's good.

You know how usually when things get moody I turn either kind of creepy or kind of depressing?

This is going to be an interesting fortnight.

Does this mean we should hide all our demos and marios, or risk them succumbing to either depression or fear?

Yeah, I can't wait to see the entries.

Tonight's video wasn't creepy at all. It was pretty comforting, really.

raocow talking about the creative process, how drugs and junk like that don't need to play a part in it, and assuring us that it's alright in the end, while ingesting pieces of music, and all the while, anti-music conspires to end him.

Out of context, it sounds creepy, but raocow just makes it work.

Also, if I were to have a tapeworm, it would totally be a musical one.

I would love a tapeworm! Not inside of me, but you know, as a pet.

You know, even though it's unfocused philosophy, raocow brings up some pretty good points in tonight's video. Especially about tolerance, great quotes, fallacies, and destruction.

It's a tad preemptive after only three videos, but this may be my favorite raocow series thus far.

Also, how much glass did he break?
