I prefer the first one. It sounds VVVVVVish, and that's not a bad thing. I'm not too fond of the remix, to be honest.

That depends on two factors. One being more substantial then the other.
1) Depends on how much "over-used" is when it comes to this.
2) Depends on the form of lullaby.

These may be worth it factors. But either way. I personally think a sort of energetic song put into 8-bit format would work great for music.

the obvious solution is to use the first one for the 'static' half of the switch palaces (in other words, the part that is alwyas the same when you get to that specific palace) and the other to the 'dynamic' half of the palace (where you select which colour you want)

That's a neat idea.
EDIT: Are the signups for the switch palaces starting? If so, I'd really like to snag the blue switch or half of it or whatever we'll end up doing.

Yeah, why not. I think we can get this thing started. I'll add necessary info to the OP.
I know SnackJack wants one, too, so I'll give it.

Also, just make the level as if you don't know where the switch palace will be. We'll figure out after we're done where each level goes.

So yeah, let the signups begin!

for the record, I think I want to make this a talkhaus only event - in other words, I don't plan on making a video announcing sign-ups for this. However, we might want to make a global announcement so people actually KNOW about it. Also maybe in the MaGL discussion thread, since a lot of designers hang out there.

They will be different. The level just needs an abstract look.

I have no idea how a custom switchpalace is supposed to look like, else I'd glady participate in that matter.

Please end it with a door. It's the simplest way of linking all the rooms together as we see fit.

Not sure if this ought to go in this thread or that Level Ideas thread, I'm just assuming it's more relevant here.

So, I'm assuming that each section has its own gimmick or theme, I mean that's just how levels work, right? I wondered if a good gimmick would be something akin to the second half of Heat Genblem's level in Megaman Zero 4: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RKKInzxoCF4#t=3m5s
Every X number of seconds, a big ol' laser or other hazard comes through the main shaft, and the player has to be running to each next safe point between each blast while avoiding obstacles and so forth. Maybe someone would want to use that if it's appropriate enough?

I came up with an interesting idea:
How about a dark switch palace level (like bowser's castle), but once you find the light switch, everythings going all flashy and the original switchpalace tileset turns into something strange and different, and later you switch it off again to be able to use a different path and stuff.
Don't blame me, I'm bad at ideas ;)

I'll take one. Pretty much just started my summer break, so I'll have a whole bunch of time to spare for this (at least until I get a job).
Don't know what sort of gimmick I want for my level yet, though, or at what difficulty all these should be at. Whatever.
[edit: red/blue/yellow switch puzzle? Layer 2 shenanigans? I'll have to think about this tonight.]
