So every great game needs an intro or opening.

ASMT had the grocery scene.
Vip5 had the group shot.
Mario world had the level example.

What should we have?
Please post your ideas here about what we should be doing for it.
Wyatt had suggested that we do a group shot of Demo and the gang.
That could be plausible, even if we made a .png of some sprite work. That would be fun. We could have multiple people work on it, and then vote on the one we'd want to import to it.
I think that could work nicely.

Please post more ideas here!
Or even examples of other games with intros you liked.

I've been making this over a few months on and off
The background should be dark though, as the siblings are all in the shadows

Well clearly it should be a recycle of the grocery store with the groceries replaced with the heads of the sisters you're going to face in the game.

EDIT: Either that, or a clip of demo facing the final boss in the most spoilertastic way possible. This would just scream 'good design decisions' all around.

I think it should be Demo wandering the halls of the space station she left at the beginning of ASMT, carrying some vegetables with her. The intro would stop once she got to a door labeled 'master', and the 'yoshi's house' could be Demo getting filled in by the master on what happened while she was gone.

No, but in all seriousness, the previous post seems like a good idea, but I think Yoshi's House already has a plan for it...

What if we had a still image and a movie. Like you have an image like vip5 or smwcp but after maybe 10 seconds it fades to a little movie thing. Like a demo of sorts.

I can only imagine the kind of sick and twisted fanart that is going to spawn from that.

Either way, it's a nice title screen and I definitely think it would fit.

By the way, should Iris and Demo be palette swaps? I think it detracts from Demo's personality to just have a straight up clone of her. Even Luigi and Mario had characteristic looks. Anyway, that image is great.

I agree with you kil; I'll add some differences amongst Demo and Iris...
The only other thing that worries me about it, is the amount of colors in it... Man, I dunno if we'll be able to use it? I'm not sure.
Also, I was planning on adding some enemies from the game...
Maybe like the cat fish, goopas, furbas, and maybe a bullet bill or something?

About the palettes:
We technically can have a picture with no palette limitations but that would have to appear after the nintendo presents and before the actual title screen. Chdata made a thread about that before.
But even then, the palettes may end up not being a big problem.

Eehhh... something about the coloring and the shading I don't like. It feels... inconsistent. It has way too many shades per color for some colors then only a couple for others and the whole thing feels cluttered.

What do you think of the original one I posted before? Less cluttered? Better? About the same?

I'd also like to see yours finished too. Yours is completely different from mine, and it looks interesting. I want to see it finished. :)

Let it be known that I don't really have a good idea of how the title screens work, but perhaps it would be possible to have a number of different title screens and and have it alternate between them?

I have some ideas on how that could be accomplished, but they might turn out to be unnecessarily complicated.

Oooooohhh.
That would be really neat, actually. We could have like a slide show... or even like scrap book of the Demo's family? Different pictures of them having fun, back in the good ole days when they weren't all crazy, and still just a nice, loving family?
That would be kinda neat.. and in the last shot, we could have the artist, just in silhoette, standing with his arms around demo and iris?
Wouldn't THAT cause some dramatic tension? I think so lol.

I though of a good introduction cutscene that could work in vwf cutscene tool.

A story book parchment thing, in old englishishy thing...
