I kinda have a few too many irons in the fire right now to have to worry about my level making the cutoff date right now. I'll try and pick up the level again sometime in December, but for right now I have to let it go. Sorry.
[I might try and actually work on it in the meantime, if only so that if/once I get the level back it can go through clearing and whatnot a bit faster]

You can insert new music.
You need to use Romi's Addmusic. The music in the AM folder becomes the LEVEL folder and the Addmusic list inside the AM folder is also used.

The music slots are yours.

Meh, I must be doing something wrong then, because after following two different tutorials, every time I insert the two tracks I want Addmusic says they are correctly inserted, but then not only my level, but every level freezes at the Demo Start screen. I edited the ini file, I put the 2 new .txt files in the level folder, then entered the command again with the same results every time... I have no idea what I'm missing.

If I end up not managing to insert these musics it's not a big deal anyway now is it? Since I think we are supposed to attach the music files we want with our levels in the submission thread...?

I don't know whether they cause a crash, but I know they're supposed to be there. If it still doesn't work, you should post the txts in the music thread and someone should be able to check whether there's something wrong with the music or not.

Are you sure you are using the latest addmusic version (HuFlungDu's Addmusic 4.05)? Because if you use an older version (like Romis addmusic 4.04), the musics will crash the game.
It's because in the latest version every music must have an echo header at the start (what limepie20 quoted). If it's not here, the musics will crash on accurate emulator using addmusic 4.05. If it's here but you use addmusic 4.04, the musics will crash on every emulator.

Woohoo ! I'm not exactly sure what was the problem, but after redownloading Addmusic 4.05 and recopying everything, I finally got these musics to work.
(This time I also copied the .spc files that came with the .txt files in the LEVEL folder, maybe that was why it didn't work before...? If it was just that I'm kind of embarrased, haha)

Thanks for your help limepie and yogui, my level should be ready for testing tomorrow. :)

Yeah, you actually don't have to do that. The .spcs are just so you can listen to the song (with an SPC Player). But I'm glad your addmusic worked!

Oh, okay. I think redowloading the exact correct version of Addmusic solved the problem then.

Now for actual reservations : I request a secondary exit slot, please. The wiki doesn't seem to be working at the moment so I'll take whatever is available.

IIRC, that's the monochrome one, in case I'm right about that, you should make everything monochrome, the screenshots I saw had coins and other things that were still colored.
