I won't have time right now to start working on collaboration, but I do express interest in doing so on this plot. To clarify some points, Moniker:
1) All of the "Boss Defeated" dialogs (other than Iris) existed to shed more light on the plot, to cut down on the plot dump at the end of the game [see #4]. The Garish "end" dialog was inspired by Joelcll (who wrote the original dialog), and its goal was to reveal that The Artist created the universe. "Goo-d" was an attempt to retain the verbal tic of Garish, and should not be read in any more than that.
2) Reading the sitcom text, I think it provides probably provide a better fate for Iris than what I have written. My ending (that is the ending post-Artist's death) was based off the end of the original story: all the Siblings fleeing The Artist and going their separate way, except for Iris who choose to remain. I think it is possible to place the sitcom ending rather after:
*everyone starts to leave*
Demo: ...except for you, Iris.

*everyone leaves except Iris*
Since everything is established except for the fate of Iris, which your cutscene deals with. Possibly delay the comedic ending until after the Credits roll, to add some tension as to the fate of Iris.

3) I forgot I even wrote the garden analogy. How would you want me to take it further? Just in that dialog into the point of absurdity? Or refer to it later on in the second Iris' battle and The Artist?

4) As for personal requests, I would like to retain (and add) as much plot information as possible (make it easier for the player to understand what is going on). For example, I think we may need to have Iris admit clearly (either in her first apperance in the Intro or during the Second Boss Battle) that Demo is being made to not exist, and that she is being made to not exist due to there being two perfect beings.

We however should avoid plot dumps though when explaining the plot. The original Iris' dialog had a huge wall of plot, which was said to overcomplicated, so it was resolved instead by having the plot be slowly revealed throughout the game. The way to do that (at least what Paralars and I came up with) was through having each Boss say something after being defeated, which reveals more about the plot. There was also the idea of having the Parrot reveal more information about the plot when you give more coins, though there has been few entries in that line.

5) I also like to retain the "call-out" references that help "set" the game in some continuity (which also adds some implications to the plot). Here's the references I wish to retain:

*First cut scene is from "A Super Mario Thing", but you already saved that that with "Previously on A Super Mario Thing..."
*After the space ship attacks, I had "One Day Later". The amount of days that has passed is equal to the amount of days that raocow spent LPing "ASMT".
*The Master's first words were: "WE...ARE...ALIVE..." This is a reference to the second ending in ASMT which was not in raocow's LP but in the public release. This second ending was there to act as a cliffhanger that leads right into A2MT but it was considered heavily unpopular by the story writers. Unfortunately, by the time people reconsidered that ending, everyone now get to see this second ending, and I still think the public release contains this second ending. So my solution was to keep these words, but add new context that rendered it with new meaning...

*When Demo arrived, The Master said "We have been awaiting the voluminous vegetal victuals, minion. We are so pleased you have finally returned." which is a callout to the original ending in raocow's LP.

So essentially these two points would end up combining both the public release ending and the raocow's LP ending into a third so-called "canon" ending.

*The Iris' original:
???: Your repeated request for the Seinfeld re-runs Blue-Ray DVD have now been fortuitously fulfilled.
Iris: Thanks, master. Place it on the table; I'll watch them later. And what about the keys to my new apartment complex?
???: They will be delivered shortly.
"Seinfeld re-runs" was the McGuffin that Demo chased in What The Hell? Demo's goal was to go into Hell to watch Seinfeld re-runs.

"Apartment Complex" is a reference to What The Hell 2? In that game, Demo wanted to go to her apartment, and the entire game was her breaking into the complex and finding her room.

The fact that Iris is attempting to relive those two episodes of What the Hell? and What the Hell? 2 implies that Demo probably once had those episodes in the distant past before this present-day "de-existence" plot and that Iris is attempting to re-enact it.
I'll probably post back later with other statements, but right now, I don't want to leave you "hanging" with no answers.

Yay noone wrote Calleoca dialogue yet.

Since I made up the name and idea for how she looks and took the youtube name I kinda have a 'she's my character' complex or something so I figured I'd make up some dialogue.

But before that I have some research to do.

In the mean time, some edits to the story page I wanted to make but I can't log in so here they are.

Changes are in bold. Items that are now questionable/not entirely official/subject to change are italicized.
These are descriptions of what the characters are like which should never really appear in the game.

Demo: The main character! She's one of the only siblings that don't get captured by The Artist and brainwashed immediately. She and Iris are considered as the "perfect' creations by The Artist. Except they were both captured by The Master and now work for him. Despite having one eye and no arms, she can still do various things. She can hold objects with one foot while running with the other for example. She could even juggle while climbing a net (but it's not recommended to force her too for any actual levels).

She general doesn't talk much and only work towards whatever she's meant to be doing. Very 'to the point'. Doesn't pay much attention to anything else besides her current role.

Pily: A fearful, paranoiac, chaotic, and possibly jealous of Demo sibling. (Although all the siblings have a bit of jealousy). Pily enjoys nice swims in lava.

Being worked on by: Noone.

Mishi: Creepily calm, cold, apathetic, and nihilistic. She's very lazy and almost emotionless.
Has psychic powers which can manipulate the mind, which can be used for various mind games. Can levitate random objects or attack with a physical form of her psychic abilities that appears as wavey black/purple effects.

Being worked on by: Noone.

Pandamona: Power-crazed, but, at bottom, very dense. Like Rumia and her bow, you can't remove the box. She's been under there since Death's Acolyte took a liking to her, and is now afraid of almost everything. But she's still very dangerous.
Her fight might be a MGS top-down (birds-eye view rpg movement) battle.

Being worked on by: Noone.

Nevada: Shy, jittery. Obsessed with plants. He's poisonous and very shy. He attacks anyone he doesn't know if they get to close, or threaten any of his plants in any way.
NO HE WILL NOT BE A PIRAHNA PLANT OR HAVE ANY THEY'RE ALREADY EVERYWHERE IN EVERY HACK EVER.
Possibly will have 100+ hp, as fireball HP.

Being worked on by: Unknown.

Garish: Considers himself the leader of the siblings. Napoleon complex. Likes giving senseless orders. Demo's brother with the ability to melt, stretch, expand, whatever! Made of goo, and claims to be the leader of the goopas who happen to follow his orders.
Blob/Gooey attacks.

Being worked on by: Noone.

Science: One of Demo's older brothers. R2D2 type. Can only speak in broken phrases. Started out as just a floating eyeball that was very curious about things but couldn't talk to ask. Eventually The Artist made him a small UFO with voice capabilities, and he made some modifications to it himself. He's extremely intelligent.
Abuses save states/other cheats.
Attacks with floating text sometimes.


Being worked on by: Unknown.

Calleoca: Shapeshifter. Is in a tizzy because she can't control her constantly changing form. Schizo-type. She can shapeshift/copy just like Kirby/Megaman/Ditto do, but whatever she shapeshifts into only has one eye. She normally "cosplays" as Rumia. In her true form, she looks like any of the other siblings, one eye no arms and such, but she normally wears a bow and is a little shorter than Demo.

She acts like a little kid and loves to play with her siblings, mostly Demo. Considers dangerous situations "fun". She hates not having fun.

She has various forms during her battle. Some ideas include the following:

Iris: Sneaky, intelligent, but weak. Because of her weak skills in battle, she became a weapons specialist, and prefers to use various daggers and throwing knives. Iris is Demo's identical (other than color) twin sister. She's also very fast and good at dodging.

When you get to Iris, instead you are confronted by a guard. This guard is the boss that must be defeated to get to Iris to save her. Unfortunately when you get to Iris, she's still under mind-control and "escapes" from Demo. (This sets up the later fight mentioned below where you battle Iris.)

Being worked on by: Noone.

Nevada, Science, and Garish are Demo's brothers.
I should say Mishi's emotionlessness is italizied because of the her being sad for losing and anxious dialogue.

- Calleoca stops and gets off (or perhaps still stands on Demo) and looks a little down (sad).

Demo stands up, Calleoca floats to the top of the screen then to the center, battle begins. Or a screen exit to her boss fight as I don't know who'll be making her battle now.

edit: Mishi's dialogue even though it's a little out of character for both of them.

Mishi: Who are you? Why are you here? Why am I so nervous?
Demo: Who are you? Why are- Whaa?
M: What a creep... She's reading my mind or something.
D: What a cree- Hey! Please stop-
M: Reading your mind?
D: ...
M:

M: It seems you don't remember us...
D: Who?
M: Your own brothers and sisters, Demo.
D: Iris? By the way... where has she been?
M: Oh not just Iris, all of us, even me.
You'll meet the rest of us in the future.

M: One last thing: We all want you dead now. We aren't weak. Good luck.

I think any dialogue should be pretty short since it's just a 2D side scroller.

I always liked the idea of the siblings going back to normal (whatever that is for them) but still keeping in touch. Just going their seperate ways. For the end when everything's resolved. As for Demo and Iris and Demo being the perfect one and Iris just lesser, (hey didn't Iriswork for the master too? :o) I like the idea of after everything's over both of them still living. (I speedthrough'd the current story ideas and saw something about Iris being erased from existence).

Also in Moniker's post with dialogues (which I like most of) Pily and Pandemona's character's seem switched up.

I'm not going to lie and say I'm 'going back to the project'.
but story / character stuff still interests me a little.
i'm hoping I might interest myself enough again to try reviving pily, who I still have all the files for. but don't bet on it. I haev enough trouble doing asm since I've got a new computer. much less working with old files that I don't remember much of how I made them.

I feel very tempted to try asm again except it's 1:30 am and school tomorrow aaa

if I end up doing anything which the chance of is completely random I'll probably end up trying to make Mishi from scrap and my old idea for her because obviously it's too hard to work on an already nearly finished Pily.

heck if I can even remember how to make custom sprites

The reason I haven't responded or even looked at what you done was that I honestly got burnt out of this project and took an unplanned break, but I'll return quickly and incorporate your ideas, chdata into...um...the lateset planned re-rewrite. The A2MT story will be written...eventually.

We can merge them all together, and we should. Most of us agree on the basic and more advanced story outline at least.

The person who's going to decide what content we're using is flameofdoubt (if I recall correctly), but the more content we contribute, the more content he can choose from.

I apologize for not doing much and putting this off, but this will probably be the last update I'll do for the dialog (at least until, say, the summer). If I have time, I'll work on the manual. One note though: are we still going to have the Library where if you collect coins, you read stories? Or has that idea been dropped?

(some major modifications from Moniker's writeup because I think I got a little creeped out of the whole "will you slime me" and I want to keep the slime pun slightly intact rather than leave it ambiguous and thus potentially misinterprted.)

Nevada (after defeat): You're the only person who have seen my garden. I built this for him, but I know deep down he doesn't deserve it. That crazy guy is too vain, too foolish. He wants people to look at his garden, but but he wants people to view his whole garden, not just his prettiest plants. If everyone were looking at two pretty roses, he'd panic and get rid of one, to force everyone to see all the other plants. But that'd ruin beauty, that'd ruin the plant. Demo: Yeah, yeah I get it already. What I don't get is...who's giving you orders?
Iris: Orders? I--
Demo: Cut it. The other siblings has mentioned that they serve 'him', not you. And my brothers...well, they aren't the 'leading' type. Stop the lies, tell me who's pulling your strings!
Iris: We all serve The Artist, even if we do not realize it. He made this entire galaxy as an exquisite work of art, including you and me as perfect beings to add a little 'spice' to the painting. But he couldn't have two perfect beings, too much perfection would make his masterpiece...pretty lame. But he didn't want to destroy either of us. So he compromised, letting us exist in our own section of time. You carried out your duty to The Artist, and now I'm merely carrying out mine.
Demo: So he's the one responsible for this mess. You know where The Artist is. Tell me where he is, let me fight him, and I'll spare you... and your "toys."
Iris: ...spared? You destroyed my Mister! *pause* But that is irrelevant. I will not betray The Artist. I will not fail in the task he assigned me. He made you, he made me. Your half is up. Now for the better half!

*fight between Demo and Iris*

Iris: If I can't defeat you, if I have no Mister to call my own, then what right do I have to replace you? *pause* Irrelevant! None will betray The Artist. None of us can...the bonds of loyalty are, well, binding. This is his world.
Demo: But you all have already failed. The only person who even could actually stands a chance to stop me...is The Artist.
Iris: Well, alright then. Here are the coordinates to The Artist's ship. He's waiting for you, although I obviously have no way of knowing that.
*Demo begins to leave*

Iris: One thing though...

*Demo stops*
Iris: I never wanted to de-exist you in the first place, but I do want to exist. If...if you do defeat The Artist, can you...
Demo: No promises.
Iris: Good enough for me, sis!
*Demo leaves*

The Artist
Start of Battle:
The Artist: Oh, OH! It's you Demo! Hello dear, you are a bit late, you know? I guess your siblings are still looking for you, poor things! At least you are safe!

Demo: Look, it's getting late and Master is waiting.So, can we get to the part where I, uh, kill you?

The Artist: Oh, i remember Kevin! He has a nice ship, very colorful. And i hate him so! Haha AH, and is he following that vegetable diet i gave him? He needs the fiber.

Demo: Yep, but sometimes it's more problematic for me than for him...

The Artist: Is he mistreating my poor Demo? Don't worry, after I break you into paint and let Iris take your place, we'll all be a happy family again.

End of Battle:

Artist: ...What have I done...
...I let my longing for the perfect creation cloud my judgement...
...How could I be so selfish?
...Demo, my daughter, I am so, so sorry to have put you through all of this. Through everything you had to go through. I am honestly, truly sorry.

Kevin: Gee, well I'm glad all that's over.
Demo: You can say that again... Master Kevin.
Kevin: Haha! What was all that about anyway?
Demo: Well-
Kevin: This place could sure use some cleaning!
Demo: *giggle*
Kevin: No, seriously. The entire cleaning staff was vaporized. Go fetch a mop.
(Demo reappears... as Iris)
Kevin: Weren't you wearing blue just now?
Iris: Oh, Master! Here, have a nice ripe carrot... *disquieting giggle*

Nice work, Servant! It looks pretty much complete for as far as I can tell.

To be frank, I'm not sure what will be in the game and what not. I'm trying to pick up some of the stuff that I left behind since I was interrupted last year. One item is attempting to create a sprite that allows one to browse through all the chest items obtained so far. It's not done yet, but at least there's some progress going on here. I dunno who's also still working on the other stuff (if any...).

Here is the completed manual for A2MT.

Barring any major changes in the plot, this should be the last thing that is necessary for the plot to be fully made. Now comes trying to salvage A2MT to make sure it gets produced.

Completed manual? With placeholders and what program do I even open this in because in Microsoft Word it looks broken all over the place.
