I think that's necessary for later puzzles?
Shell kill is known and is a property of the block.
Isn't that harder to do than the intended solution?

Re: And Another Thing - Official Release Thread
it occurred to me that I dont think I ever figured out the intended solution. also i posted this before going back to do the raocoins. i guess i'll post my solutions here. not sure which of these are intended or not, these are just what i found first:

Re: And Another Thing - Official Release Thread
i like how your only post is literally about that one mid columbus jrpg on the nes (i haven't played it yet but apparently it's kinda There at the most)Seraphicat wrote: ↑5 months ago Going to experiment with this with the mini consoles and return with the results.![]()
idk if it'll work since this is an 8MB game and thus requires the latest versions of snes9x or bsnes (or mesen)
it may work on flashcarts, but there is the issue of sd2snes randomly erasing your data, kaizo devs are well aware of that issue but haven't found a cause yet. a smw hacker who was researching that once only managed to come up with theorems and nothing concrete.
if you want a good nes rpg consider the following:
- lagrange point
- just breed (strategy)
- esper dream 1&2 (action, first is on fds)
- destiny of an emperor 1&2
- double moon densetsu (may be a little slow?)
- metal max (snes remake is available, nonlinear)
- juvei quest (can be a little bland?)
- megami tensei 2 (dungeon crawler, snes remake also available but the music is kind of nerfed)
- jikuu yuuden debias (action)
- minelvaton saga (action, similar to xanadu on pc88, very nonlinear, use a guide)
- madara (turn based, very unique)

not saving. the following clip shows me getting the checkpoint, saving the game, resetting to make sure my save file didnt get deleted, and then spliced in at the end is me coming back the next day to keep playing only to find my checkpoint didnt get saved!EDIT: the backup did not actually contain the checkpoint either, which means it either never got saved or the game restored a previous session's save. im actually not sure if smw keeps a backup of the sram... i think it stores two copies but maybe thats just an integrity check. anyway, now im wondering if the save from the save prompt just, didnt actually transfer the save buffer for some reason. i guess theres no way to know unless i can recreate it on emulator.

checkpoint on Mesen just now, but the checkpoint properly saved for me, even after power off/on. So it probably has to do with the fact that you're playing on console with SD2SNES. Do you have this checkpoint issue with any other level?- nathanisbored

Just that one, though it's somewhat rare for me to stop in the middle of a level and come back in another session. It's cool, I beat the level eventually. Thanks for testing, but yeah I guess it's probably just a flukePSI Ninja wrote: ↑5 months ago We're sorry that this happened to you. I tested out theR.A.O.C.O.W.

Good job, it's actually probably the hardest level, up there with Locus and Can't Turn Back or whatever. SPECIAL has a specifically hard sublevel but from what I can tell that's the hardest part of the level and it doesn't get that hard again.

we reused a few from a2mt that were never inserted into the game Do Not Worry gamer. sadly we were short of composers this project and idk if we're gonna get to the level of composing original music in an eventual followup

I will be on the lookout
Am hoping for Wyatt's badass Lullaby mix, though. It's way too cool NOT to use in a hack someday :D

Re: And Another Thing - Official Release Thread
aat spoiler:
I have offered to create an original final boss theme for Windrose, but the choice that was selected ended up being favoured, so I didn't end up porting what I had over to SPC700.

thank you for play :)nathanisbored wrote: ↑5 months ago i did it i beat the game all the way!! my opinions is that it is very good and cute and memorable. i did the whole playthrough on SD2SNES and i had one instance of my save getting deleted and another instance of a checkpoint not getting saved, but no other issues like that. there are graphical issues a lot but i think thats cuz of the sprite-based HUD so its understandable. thanks everyone for making it
a lot of it is from smwc honestly, and also later versions of lunar magic are just. less shit at dealing with graphics (you have more graphics slots for one, you have more map16 pages i think)UserPlayer89 wrote: ↑5 months ago I was randomly thinking about Demo's adventureas again because of the netx part of A2XT also releasing fialry recently so this was a really nice surprise to see. also the step up in the visual departmemt really shows how long it's been since this hack and tho eiginal two

Re: And Another Thing - Official Release Thread
To be honest, I'm just happy to hear that none of the major progress checks are broken. This was actually my number one concern as the project was nearing completion, rather than dealing with complaints about the level design, story, etc. It's reassuring that you (and others who have played through the game) like it overall, and flattering that you like it enough to do IL speedruns of the levels. I hope that you can keep that up as long as possible - watching all of your various breaks/cheeses is very cool, and we're probably not going to fix most of them.nathanisbored wrote: ↑5 months ago i did it i beat the game all the way!! my opinions is that it is very good and cute and memorable. i did the whole playthrough on SD2SNES and i had one instance of my save getting deleted and another instance of a checkpoint not getting saved, but no other issues like that. there are graphical issues a lot but i think thats cuz of the sprite-based HUD so its understandable. thanks everyone for making it
You wondered about the Blue Switch Palace, so
I just wanted to say that your solutions for Normal 4 and RC 2-3 were not intended. In fact, no one I've seen has ever solved RC 3 the intended way. When the time comes during the LP, I'm going to try and post a video with all of the intended solutions. I don't have the means to do that right now.
