If you need a bit of extra time (eg you're making a boss), let us know, we'll try to accommodate. As long as we can see your level/have an idea what it is for OW sorting purposes and have some timeframe for when it'll be done.

OK, deadline has passed. Here are the final results:
82 levels were finished and submitted before the deadline:
1 level was submitted just past the deadline, and just made it's way in:
edit: to be clear if one of those 6 submits something now we can still accept it i guess, but they'll have to act quickly before choose to do something else with those slots.

We could ask rao if he wants to make a level using one of the remaining slots. He's made something for most past projects, and I think it makes for an interesting, different type of video whenever he runs into his own creations.
I believe you can create a ROM without any of the levels by commenting out the relevant lines (Levels, GlobalData (overworld), and UberASM, mainly) in Lunar Helper's project config's build order. Lunar Helper isn't working for me right now, though.

i think raocow dislikes making levels now but im not sure. im sure we could blackball him into making either a demo roseclair etc one or a betrayal rock one tho though
i dont know how it is on your linux distro
try setting it to run as administrator, i literally had that problem because windows 10 was made by neanderthals and decided it should randomly make an entire folder and everything in it (namely the smw folder i keep most of my assets in to mess around with and code shit) read-only. it's still not really making or being able to edit test.lrp or whatever, which is insane but it works(?)

If designing an entire level is too much for raocow these days, then we could ask him if he wants to submit a Bowser's Castle room. To keep things vague for him and to avoid spoilers, we can just ask that he make something that's difficult, but beatable in about 30 SMW seconds (if we're still going with that idea).

If you're looking to fill the rest of the slots, I'd maybe be interested in making a souped up version of my level for the special world or something. Wouldn't take me very long to do, I'd probably invert the theme, change the enemy types, change stuff around to be a lot harder, and maybe replace the boss section with a new segment. Could probably have it done by next weekend (although I'm away this weekend so I wouldn't be able to start until Sunday night.)
That being said, we definitely have more than enough special world levels, so this would probably only really make sense for me to do if some levels were moved from there into the main game as was suggested in the overworld thread.

Just making sure you know that, we don't need to fill up Every Slot. The VIPs have a lot of empty slots near the end of the level ID list, it's totally fine. As an aside, Valentine told me some months back that, due to how completely batshit her rl life is, that if she didn't have anything finished by February that you can basically nix her level. I just completely forgot to post that. As for the rest, I think bob hasn't been working on it for a while as he hasn't posted on the Discord in a while and I think nate, Faro and antymis just completely forgot about talkhaus as a whole because this is a dead forum for dead people

Oh, I know. It's just that we're so close to filling it that it'd be a shame if we didn't, especially if one or 2 people were able to draw something up in a week If you consider we need 3 more rest areas (1's been claimed), that's 2 empty slots. Surely we can find some quick way to fill those while bowser castle development happens.

Very well, if we need it. Just don't worry too much about filling up everything in any SMW project we make. I looked on the excel sheet again, special world seems plenty full. Maybe world 1 could use another level, I could definitely put an easier level together in a few days.

Sure, go for it. I think World 1 should have less levels that the other submaps, but maybe 4 isn't enough?

I don't disagree by any means, but even with an additional level it will still be a decent amount shorter than all the other worlds. I just thought it was the place in the game that could most benefit from another level, I guess.

I could slap out somethign real quick with one or two or three of the custom sprites already in the baserom, I just don't know how long that'll take me because I'm aggressively terrible and unconfident unless my level is like. Peak aesthetics
Give me some time to insert stuff whenever, and then I'll try to peep out any interesting sprites that could work well together to see if I can make a semi-rompy level with em and some cute graphics (preferably from SMWC, maybe with some vanilla shit, and repurposed+jumbled together so I don't have to waste people's time ripping shit). Don't want to go ham into setups as a greenhorn to level design.
It'll make my castle and sky stage look worse in comparison graphically but that's how it is on this bitch of an earth
