Ohhh there are so many good games on this list :D
Re: Here is the famous bucket.txt What inside do you look forward to the most ?
here's the ones that pique my interest in approximately that order
1. sanae toumaden x - because i love sanae and her wacky goddess mom family and also megaman. i'm a sucker for fluffy queer stuff, ok?
2. moyashi monogatari - because it seems cave story LIKE but it's not been overplayed to death and i'm sure patchy is gonna provide some of her characteristic snarky doneness with marisa and life in general as the protagonist. the translator of this game also said it's really good and the japanese creator doesn't have much of an english presence so they'd really appreciate this game getting spread around and such.
3. lakitu's great adventure - a great showcase of what can be done using custom graphics only and barely any ASM. the graphical replacements get really ingenious due to this and i love it for that. plus it's short so it's guaranteed to not overstay its welcome
4. luigi's fight for the mushroom kingdom - has some irritating sections which is why it's last place but it was quite a showcase for the smbx 1.3 era which i'm quite nostalgic for. such as levels that had manually-tinted sprites, that was an insane amount of detail. quite a few new custom graphics too, and some ported ones that smw hack players may recognize. it's also quite creative in eschewing the typical mario structure of worlds and themes and castles and such.
i'm also advocating for it because peeps can play it along with raocow in widescreen and on Mac/Linux without emulation and even android using the new-ish smbx source code touchup "TheXTech" due to it being a 1.3 episode.
i wonder if the creator would be willing to provide some director's commentary in the thread? if you're interested in me trying to contact him again (after i asked his permission to ask "can i ask raocow to play this" way back when) just let me know.

Two things I'm the most excited about: R-ACK and AVGN.
R-ACK is just a really good time, it's the kind of romhack that's exactly up your alley.
I actually do like the AVGN games, warts and all, and the remasters make them into genuinely pretty fun platformers. They also have to be a package deal, because the remaster is both games, and has a wily tower esque postgame attatched to it

Okay, my original post still stands as my vote for the category but I went through and tried to compile a proper list. In no particular order...
already confirmed and very much looking forward to it:
- banjo
very yes:
- frog fractions
- toree 3D (yeah, if there's a third game in the works I'd say make it a trilogy LP)
- untitled goose game
- smw remade from memory
- what valentine said about the 2021 chocolate contest instead of 2020 SMBX levels
- spyro 3
-- when released: psycutlery --
- axiom verge
- guacamelee 2
- sly cooper (if we're talking the full series)
- klonoa
yes:
- titan souls
- shadow of the colossus
- freedom planet
- the bloodstaineds
- wuppo
- megaman legends
- yooka laylee
- viewtiful joe
- drawn to life
- sly cooper (if we're talking just sly 1)
- metal wolf chaos
- cave story
- momodora reverie
- any and all cat games
- any and all touhou games
games I'd love to see but really need to play/finish myself before watching if they ever get picked:
- spark the electric jester
- there is no game
- spiritfarer
- the messenger
- chicory
- touhou luna nights
- webbed
- crosscode
- return of the obra dinn
- hylics
- clockwork calamity in mushroom world
- grapple force rena
- steamworld dig 2
i don't know what this is but I have to include it based on the name alone:
- garlic
If I have the time tonight I'll do another pass and see if anything else stands out.

So many games to choose from :O
I split my choices up into the games I look forward to the most and other games I look forward to a lot. Other than that, they are listed in no particular order. If I can only vote for one game, then I'm going with WarioWare.
These 5 are the games that I'm looking forward to the most:
-cldc 2020
-nes remix
-monkey ball
-untitled goose game
-warioware
Other games that I look forward to a lot:
-a plumber for all seasons
-smw gaiden
-super mario world remade from memory
-r-ack
-ducktales hard mode hack
-zelda3/super metroid randomiser
-rhythm heaven
-zombies ate my neighbours
-mario galaxy
-drawn to life
-hylics
-anodyne
-magmml2
-downwell
-LIMBO
-crypt of the necrodancer
-Toree 3D (trilogy)
-there is no game
