Swirlybomb does the arts maybe [3D animations yo]

Post by swirlybomb »

Here is where I will put my things

DA page: http://teh-tj.deviantart.com/
Animation Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/ElTaitronAnim
Vanilla Youtube channel (unused): http://www.youtube.com/user/swirlybomb

So I've been working on a raocow animation for the past while, and I'm getting pretty close to done, which is more or less what prompted me to make an account here in the first place. It's been... a couple months in the works, but really that is literally only because I'm super-slow at doing anything and I don't focus very well. Here are some previous work-in-progress stages:

Image
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9Jl8kiTwB8 <- keyframes only
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpguXJdrZMU <- kind of a weird middling stage where none of the real motions are in properly and it's kind of weird to watch, you don't have to watch this

I am very close to done now, though; I should only have lip-syncing left to do, and I should be able to finish that this weekend. Although I would also like to figure out how to get better exported audio quality too- not sure if anyone here would have any HOT TIPS on that.

...I also really hope that no one hates me for using a similar scene/staging that Roo uses for his animations... I swear it wasn't intentional to 'copy' it, I had it in mind before I saw his videos, and it's a pretty decent setup either way. No hard feelings, bro, I hope???

In the future I'll put other things here too, but for now here's a link to my youtube animation channel:
http://www.youtube.com/user/ElTaitronAnim
(hint: not all of it is good)

You've made some cool stuff here, and the raocow-thingy coming along looks decent as well.
Very good show, and though it does look a bit Roo-ish, I understand your predicament with the whole "I had an awesome niche idea, and then I found out there was one other person in the world that also had the same niche idea" thing.
So yeah, nice work, and I look forward to more stuff from you.

Hey another Canadian! But chances are, not in Saskatchewan, cause I'm apparently the only Talkhauser in Saskatchewan! Hoorah!

On a non-self-pitying note, those are great! They're all bubbly and... Yeah! It's like parade balloons or something! :3

This is something that was done two months ago, but I never got around to coloring it or anything. Whoops! I think it turned out pretty snazzy, though.

This is a character of mine named Kelvin. He uses fire magic and a big ol' laser-sword and isn't exactly the most agreeable fellow.

And hey, have some actual links (it's slightly cut-off on the right side here anyway):

I'll go ahead and put my site links in the first post too.

Spent the past two months or so pretty much only working on drawing ponies. Though it only took that long because I'm so lazy and blargh. I think I have a pretty good handle on drawing pony heads now, though!

Aha, suddenly I discovered the arcane secrets of how to use attachments properly!

Some quick things of my own characters because I was concerned I wouldn't be able to draw normally again after being focused on only ponies for so long.

A little birthday gift for a friend that really likes Trixie. Why is she sad/shy? Because he has a picture series in which Trixie acquires a life-size Twilight doll and starts treating it as if it were real. It's as adorable as it is horribly depressing. Find his things here.

This was sketched out a couple months ago, but I just didn't touch it at all for a while. Then a friend pointed me to the 2nd Annual 'Draw A Champion Into A Pony' contest on the League of Legends forums, and well, no better time to get working!

The lightning/magic may not be the greatest, but it was my first attempt at doing something resembling digital painting with Photoshop. I think it turned out pretty good otherwise, though!

Neglected this for a bit! Here's some new stuff (there's a legit new animation at the bottom!!):

Another pony pic, based on the romhack Pony Fantasy 6 (Applejack replaces Cyan, making her a samurai):

New legit Raonimation!!:

But... I suppose I didn't consider the size on Youtube, so you may want to go with the higher-quality DA link instead:

I'm sorry, I thought I responded to your comments! Thank you very much, I really appreciate hearing that people like my work :) Shame it didn't garner nearly as much attention as the previous Raonimation though...
Aposke wrote:Also, gotta love that little Marisa doll behind his monitor!
My idea is to have different pictures/dolls with each new animation (more or less like how Roo did the same and had his own internal continuity going on), as well as generally adding more background elements to the room and stuff.

A short little silly thing:

Also I realize that most of the images in this thread fell victim to the Talkhaustrophe. I'll have to fix them... sometime.
