Only two things I'll say about my level before it's played:

About the character I chose:

I would have made playing Peach an option (two character level instead of one character), with different powerups for the two characters and custom graphics for both if I had joined this contest sooner.

About what little graphics I changed:

Personally, I wanted to replace the SMB3 wood tile graphics with fleshy-walled Womb Level graphics of my own design. Of course, editing GIF sprites in MSPaint prevents me from changing the palette so this wasn't an option for me unless I did something drastic and time-consuming.

Hype get~

If you have the opportunity to work with SMBX and sprites again in the future, I'd recommend using GIMP. I did manage to find a 2x2 brush (that's what basically all the graphics in SMBX use) and get it imported (i was an idiot in copying) and it was much easier for me to resprite things. It's pretty simple to remove the palette limitation and then put it back in place so recoloring things is simple too.

It all ended up fixing itself in the end. Guess it was just a weird fluke, because it works perfectly now.

Now I don't have to worry (as much) about looking dumb.

you can also just use the built in 1x1 brush at size 2

EDIT: Just after submitting my level I played through it again, and thought "Oh crap that's broken!" for a moment before realizing "... oh... no, I forgot it's not supposed to do that thing quite yet... nevermind...". Anyone else have those moments just after submitting? I imagine so...

All of these names were super good to me and put specific level ideas into my head. It's a shame they didn't get used!

Oh my! I feel like those are my favourite selection of rejected names I've seen. There have been good ones but that many good ones from one person? Wow. Knowing those are what you turned down makes more more curious to see your level when it's placement is revealed.
