Oh boy, this is going to be fun.

Shall I send you my level via PM? I think that it the level is done and the only thing left is to submit it, but I would like to receive the most feedback I can.

There... there ya go.
Wait wait, wait. Wait. Waaaaiiiiit. Wait wait wait wait wait.

Your level in the last contest got like 6th place tell those complainers to shut up. :x It was great. Make whatever level you wanna make (as long as it's well designed) and you'll make a far better level than you ever would just doing whatever 'the masses' (or 'peeps') say.

The deadline is not for a few hours but I've turned my computer off for the night and I'm going to sleep. I just didn't have the motivation to finish my level despite having some great ideas and I'm honestly really disappointed in myself even though I probably shouldn't be.

Good luck to all people who submitted and hopefully I can get over this slump by the time the next contest that interests me rolls around.

Hm, the difficulty of my level is probably way too easy, but eh, at least I had a slight bit of fun doing it.

Rockythechao wrote:Sorry for troubling you with this on such short notice. I haven't officially returned to the talkhaus yet but I received a PM from someone this morning about trouble they're having with a LunaLua/cinematX-heavy section of their level.

I've been getting similar messages over the course of the contest and I haven't been able to address all of them in a timely manner. And a lot of these problems were caused by bugs in the extensions that had to be patched or vague/confusing/outdated documentation.

As it is you've already extended the submission deadline and probably re-released the devkit several times by now. I don't want to ask anything that would make even more work for you, but... I was wondering if you might consider providing a small grace period of sorts for Lua-related patches?

Like, people should still have to submit their levels by tonight and they have to be playable from start to finish, but maybe they could dummy out buggy LunaLua content or offer an option to skip it and then if they submit an updated lunadll.lua file by next weekend they won't have too strong a penalty for it?

Again, sorry for bothering you with this. I can understand if you can't do anything about it... because of my heavy workload and other personal matters I can't do much to help them at this time myself, but I figured I should at least see if there was some way they'd have a better opportunity to figure out the issues themselves or get help from other people.

Thank you for your consideration,
Rockythechao
Uhh sure, just have them ask me for one.

Sure
TL;DR version:
Rocky sucks at asking simple questions in a timely fashion. Also,
if your level is pretty much done but you're having trouble with cinematX or other Lua stuff, tweak the code so the level can be played from start to finish -- comment out the stuff that causes the crashes/weird behavior or add a way to skip that part of the level -- then submit it by the regular deadline tonight with a note saying you need a bit of extra time to fix your lunadll.lua file.

The level share/testing stream is still open for those who want to see their level played!

(I AM accepting levels that have been already submitted as an entry fee; first priority WILL be given to those who are actually in need of the testing!)

I'm tempted to send my level over, but I submitted mine already, and could do with sleeping.

I'm pretty tempted to too, but I'm somehow more nervous about a stream's judgement than I am of raocow and the judges' opinions, which makes me feel dumb <_< I already took the plunge by submitting my level with absolutely no outside testing whatsoever, really.

There's only, like, 6 people in the stream if that helps at all.

Don't be nervous! I'm honestly a super friendly duder and we're having a lot of fun in here!

We're just having a lot of fun at this point with all these levels!

You'll need to PM me a link to your level and I'll give you the link. Call it an entry fee since we're all seeing each other's levels.

That's exactly what I mean. The entry fee is that you have to be willing to put your level on display too (It's only fair to all those who have done the same); PM your level and you can come hang out.

Oh. I have made one level, and it's made for testing ram values. and it has no exit.

Wee! Just finished building and tweaking and testing my level. And of course, while I'm pretty sure that everything is perfectly fine, even with my hamfisted method of getting around the Volcano lotus layering issue, I'm still worried that something screwed up. :?

Here be the level names I did not use.

Goomba Do Not Come from the House. Where the Heck Were You Raised to Think That? They Come from Mansions
Bomberman and Darth Vader Meet at Last
Back in My Day They Pretended in Johto
I'm Gonna Have to Agree with You Mario, Buzzy Beetle Do Sound Tightfisted
