8flight's postgame level was pretty awesome. I'd be happy if MAGLX2 had something exactly like it. ^_^

How large is the Maglx2 episode? Do you think we can optimize some of the larger sound files to take less space? There is a change that some levels use 20 MB .wav files or something. I remember there were some really big song files on the first Maglx.

Edit: The largest mp3 file on that episode was 70 MB.
Edit: and one of the level folders was 205 MB total.

Why would anyone use WAV files for music? ;w; Even for short (like five seconds) music clips, you ought to use compressed audio formats.

with SDL2, one should be able to recompress all the music as 192kpbs OGG Vorbis, which should lower the filesize by a decent amount.

I don't think we need to recompress everything, but I do hope that the overly large files are converted.

I wonder what will pop up first, my level or my boss...
I actually think it's more likely my level will pop up first.

If we're assuming that physically every eight or nine levels will have a boss that will be chosen linearly by rank...

It would be super interesting to see someone get first place for boss but have a level stuck back at like 180. Would be less surprising to see someone make top 10, but have one of the lesser bosses. I am pretty sure my level would be seen before my boss if it was done strictly linear.

My boss will come up first. Period. My level is, if I may say so myself, pretty alright, I think. Can't say the same for my boss.

I can guarantee that my level will appear before my boss. Mostly because I didn't submit a boss.

This is assuming all the MAFAB entries make it into the episode. As opposed to tossing all the losing entries into the fires of Mount Doom.

So with MaGL X2 over and now MAFAB over too, my mind's desperate idea of passing the time until judging is over is basically "you should take all this pent up energy and make A2XT levels with it" and part of me thinks this is smart and the rest of me thinks it's some kind of withdrawal and will just lead to stress. But I think I'm still doing it anyways.

Help ;~;

I think the answer is, place a quota on the maximum amount of time you'd put towards it per day, which is shorter than what you did during MaGL X2 :P

If that's not including bosses, congrats on clearing 15% of the levels!

You could always, oh I dunno, make something from the MaGL X1 unused name list? :3

Oh hey a couple of people mentioned my level as one of their favorites from the first contest? That's pretty cool!

I think I put more work into my level for this contest than I have ever put into anything smbx related so I hope people like that too!

Are the levels being judged in an order? or at random?

I suspect it's at least partially in order of submission.

There is an order. We have no idea what it is, but unless Horikawa says otherwise I choose to believe it's alphabetical by level name.
