Level Submissions

When you actually finish a level, post it here so people can test it. For everyone's convenience, please don't post in here to comment on a level; that's what the Level Testing and Reviews thread is for.

Important notes to keep in mind: (let me know if I've missed something)
-Use a star as the exit to your level. You can have a secondary exit of some kind that isn't a star, but the main exit should be one.
-Please note the number of stars so testers know if there's more than one.
-Don't put your level in the same folder as your resources.
-This is technically part of the above point, but worth noting on its own. Make sure any custom music you're including is in the folder with the rest of your resources! If you have to move the music to do this, you'll need to change the filepath in the level itself to the new location.
-Just so that it's clear: Levels are not going to be filtered by default. If you want a specific character for your level or to restrict bringing in certain power-ups, then either add one in yourself with LunaLua, or mention what you want filtered when you submit the level.

The latest versions of submitted levels can be found on the organizational spreadsheet, under the Completed Levels page.
We also have a wiki for downloading purposes.

Note that some of these levels aren't intended as "complete" yet; basically, if it says "Complete" it means all that needs to be done is testing it, but "In Progress" means that there's going to be work done even if testing doesn't reveal any problems.

At some point down the line I may have a "finalized" status for levels that we're going to put in the game as they are.

If you update your level, let me or Zyglrox know so we can update the link on the spreadsheet.

Hey folks! I got one'a my levels finished too! I basically got split on a graphical/audio choice for my level the "Deluxe" is pretty much the Director's Cut of my level and what I feel is the feel of it whereas "Standard" is just what I think would be better for game-play wise but no change to the level design was made, only graphics and audio for the player were altered.

Now to "proudly" present: TOAD'S GONE WILD IN THE SUMMER BREEZE! (one star, toad only)

Bwahaha, finished my Thwomp level, it has them.

Edit* Update to the level fixing some odds and ends.

Edit 2* Updates to music and changed a pit jump to be less annoying.

SMB 1 Thwomps There is only one star so no super secrets to care about.

Yup, there are Thwomps.

EDIT: Hold up. Found a bug. Let me try and fix it...
EDIT EDIT: Fixed! Link should be correct now.

Changelog:
-Reduced some of the glowing Qs in the last q-thwomp section.
-Widened some of the narrow platforms.
-Slight enemy repositioning.
-Altered splitting-Q mechanics slightly to make them less likely to screw you over.
-Repositioned Q-heads at the start to clarify the hint slightly.
-Shifted the Q-freeze to the right so it doesn't kill you.
-Fixed a bug with q-thwomps getting you stuck.
-Fixed filters so they now remove powerups and restore them on completing the level, rather than trying to place them in the item box.
-Changed secret exit to a second star.
-Added some flavour in the last screen of the secret exit.
-Custom yoshi graphics.

3 stars in the level.

The water will be replaced with translucent water once the Rednaxela is done with the OpenGL renderer.

The level is intended to be started with powerups (to get one of the 3 stars). Feel free to use any character/powerup you like when you start the level.

features:
  • HUD - dragon coin counter added. Shows 5 sprites (XOXXX) for dragon coins in the order they appear in the level.
  • If the player enters a secret area hidden behind pipes, the pipes become become transparent. (temporary checkerboard mask until OpenGL)
fixes:
  • fixed an issue that allowed the player to spinjump on Kzans.
  • lowered the rightmost Kzan in section 6 for better visibility
  • added platforms in section 6 to lower the difficulty and allow a safe return after getting the dragon coin
  • removed all item orbs and replaced them with power-ups. Item orb handling proved to be unintuitive.
  • added more background phantos in earlier sections
  • the key now no longer despawns when offscreen
  • the "ladder"-like supports in section 2 are no longer climable
may be fixed later:
  • respawning fish

Changes:
-Hallway of glowing Qs now slightly harder, but still easier than the original
-Fixed a bug with the spike wall in the secret exit, causing it to be mispositioned if you got hurt during its movement (using eventu v1.0.3).

EDIT: Turns out I forgot to upload the fixed version. That's now done, and is using eventu v1.0.4 now.

Here is my level “A Deadly Dreamland Level”:

It is a deadly level and is meant to be pretty difficult. I’ve ran thru it multiple times and it seems pretty reasonable. Hopefully it will be deemed acceptable, if not I can make some changes to make it easier.

Some notes on the changes:
The level features 2 stars now.

When you collect the first star you unlock a shortcut, so the level now has 2 check points instead of one.

Pretty much every part has been altered to be easeir.

There are two stars, one SMB3 and one SMW. Any character can probably be used, though the intended method for the SMW star is best done with Mario or Luigi.

Mega Man Inspired My Take on Torpedo Teds In This Level.

Overall I think it's a shorter level. 1 star. If there are any bugs, please tell me so I can fix them. If it needs to be noted, this one does use Lua.

Fiercely and Indiscriminately Murder

This is my first ever public SMBX level. I'm expecting this to be torn apart and to be beaten with the wet ends, so to speak. I will love some feedback of any kind and any suggestions are welcome for changes.

Note: Length is intentional, due to the nature I didn't want the level to outstay its welcome, just be a short little romp. Not necessarily an easy one, just a good A-to-B style challenge.

Stars: 1.

EDIT: FaIM typo in the title fixed and music correctly set up to play.

Level has 1 star exit and Dragon coins to get. It's a bit difficult, especially the second half. I'll tone it down if need be.

Mission: Sinking Star

I just got lazy for now, so I put the link to the lazily-completed level for now.(Well, I admit that this level is "mission: proud sky"-wannabe. At least for now.)

I just have the idea of a silly opening, but I don't really know how to design a suitable-themed level to continue.(I don't mind playing with spamming enemy, but if that is the case, I rather submit this version.)
