Official Indie Experience Inside

English/日本人

Oh no, Cloudland is in trouble! The evil King Cloud has stolen all of the Cloudland dreams, and now nobody can fall asleep! It's up to On-Yan, protector of Cloudland, to journey on a quest to stop King Cloud...

やばい!クモランドランドは大変です! すべてのクラウドランドの夢が悪の王クラウドを盗んでいました、 そして誰も眠り込むできない! オン-ヤん、クラウドランドの保護者は旅をして、悪の王クラウドを止めるために...

-----------------------------

This is an retro nostalgic indie game about the color red and onions. Inspired by a lot of classic games and stuff like that. Journey through many worlds and encounter many different creatures in your quest to save the day. It's been in development for around four and a half months now and I think it's finally in a good state to show it off

This indie game is being made by:
Me - Lead Programmer
JaxCheese - Lead Composer (Bandcamp)
Neweegee - Lead Pixel Artist (Deviantart)
Blutorus - Additional Artwork
LuigiM9/Kirby's Adventure - Additional Artwork
Someguy - Additional Programming
Masashi27 - Translations

So far the game is looking pretty good! the only major issue I can see at the moment is that the sprites, blocks, and background objects aren't distinguished enough. But the designs of everything is super neat, I'm looking forward to this game. ;)

So it's designed as if it's a Virtual Boy game?

Either way, it looks good.

Thanks to all

Meet dozier, the first "complex" enemy in the game
Dozier stands still, due to sleeping, and snores out handfuls of "Z"'s that can harm the player. Hitting Dozier with your magical stick won't hurt him though. What you have to do is bounce the "Z" back at Dozier to wake him up, and attack him, all done with the Stick.
Also that isn't a third leg so don't even mention it.

How much is there still left to be done?

Alternate Palettes.

Now you don't have to play the game in red.

That green has a very pleasant feeling on the game! I'm glad it'll be an option to use for the palette.

It's such a shame you decided on using one colour; the pixelart is actually quite good.

There are multiple palettes to choose from, though only two are enabled as of now.

Oh hi...! It's been a while! Thanks to the power of Internet failure, dev kinda hauled for a while. During that time, I decided to rethink what I planned to do with this game, and made a few major changes. The biggest one being in the artstyle.
Image
Meet new artstyle folks!

Gameplay wise, the game will play mostly the same, with a few changes made to make the game a bit more difficult. I choose to change the artstyle to distinct this game from being in the Kirby-ish style, something (while I thought looked great) would and could cause problems down the line. Also, I've now been designing the game with 16:9 in mind now, along with control plans and formats for other consoles (both of which I didn't originally do when I first set up the game's design). Expect dev to pick up again now, and expect to see some very cool stuff soon...

As a minor update, here is another small taste of the ost. The theme was composed by myself and mastered in Famitracker by my main composer. Enjoy
