Super <Insert Something Here> Bros: Adventure Through The Lands

Post by Heraga »

Ok so here's the deal. I was browsing Mfgg and found a SMB1 editor (ala Lunar Magic). More importantly, it plays just like original! Some things have been added however (clock now can go into the 1000's and counts up, a visible checkpoint, ect) but most of the stuff stays the same.

Ok.

Now that I'm done with my introduction of the project, time to show off some junk!

Who knows, maybe this will catch on and become a big thing on the Talkhaus. I'll like to see some projects that use this.

Oh yeah, here's a download link for the editor:

Kek, have fun.

(P.S: Yes, this is a side-project I'm currently working on!)

I don't know, a Mario 1 editor is nice, but... ok?

I would've commented sooner, but...I'm just not all that interested with SMB's physics. In fact, they're the worst Mario physics in ANY game (even Super Mario Land).
However, if it was like SMBX or SMW physics with SMB graphics, I'd be for this.

Yeah, I know. I though it would be cool and catch on like Smw or Smbx.

No it can't as there are something's that wouldn't work on a nes.

The game is saved in .mario files and is made in Java. It works like .lvl files for SMBX.

The thing is free.

Well the Talkhaus did a whole Collab based of SMB1 (Superb Demo Sisters.) Haven't played it in a while so I don't know if they changed the SMBX physics.

I thought about SDS as I wrote this, but the physics, luckily, were kept SMBX.
OFF-TOPIC NOTE: Is it just me, or am I like, the only one who prefers SMBX's physics and engine mechanics better than SMW?

The physics might be able to be changed though Java Script because the game is through a .jar file.

Alright, then you should probably only mess with the jumping, collision, and running, and especially the part where they combine.

How are the physics for this anyway?

I was making a talkhaus joke. There's a reason why the "D" in "Demo" was capitalized, I was using it as a name, not a word.
