So, I've been thinking, since I'm in charge of the hub which will be created following the results of the contest.

If anyone would be interested in making some original music for the hub MaGLX3 style DM me, I wanna see if there's any interest for doing something like that again.

As expected for my judgement result. A matter of only having 1 week to work on it due other obligations, and that was 1 week with too many other distractions and putting all my work into prep work before getting around to the actual level and oops out of time :P

Grats to everyone!

P.S. Fun gimmick fact about my 'level':

The smoke puff colors aren't arbitrary. They're based on mapping the pitch classes of the notes in the predominant chord of each bar, to colors on the color wheel. Pitch classes can be thought of like musical hue after all :)

Waddle's medal contributions like "House" and "You Can Drown Wario" are a valuable addition to the medal roster indeed

This was a blast! Loved seeing all of these creative ideas and set-pieces. I really hope that anyone who reads my reviews understands my positions and (hopefully) gets an idea about what sort of levels I enjoy and don't enjoy. There were so many great levels that it was hard to pick a favorite after I reviewed them all. Hope everyone enjoys the medals, too; they're one of my favorite parts of the results lmao

Can't wait to see all the entries come together in the episode sometime down the line. Valentine's gonna do a fantastic job on it, of course. Can't wait to show off my judge level around that time too, whenever it may be! Hope to be involved in a future contest!!

Fun fact about my judging: I usually stick to first impressions when it comes to judging things because they're often my core/true feelings, but ElTipsta's Chomp Chomp Mountain (my favorite) is the only level that I played more than once purely because I had that much fun with it!!

50.8 overall
Y'know, for a quasi-joke level whipped up in 32 hours after my real level sprouted a ~magical~ crash bug I managed to not encounter until two nights before the deadline that's not bad <.<
Glad you guys, uh. I'm gonna go with "lived" :? And congrats to everybody else too

The episode will be huge. Will some of the ideas get copied to the base game as new NPC?

welp! my lofty goal was "middle third" and i missed it by precisely one level, pensive emoji. still, some pretty positive reviews despite what is in hindsight an incredibly difficult gimmick to temper.

for the record, the big premise with my level, Bright Future, which i didn't expect anyone would happen to know but the minute chance that someone did was worth it, is

it's an extremely liberal adaptation of a film of the same name, 2003, dir. kiyoshi kurosawa. the music's also from the movie!

call me reecer6, not reecer7, please! gotta maintain that same internet brand. actually i'm cro-iba now, it's cooler

Well, my placement is about what I was expecting given the level I submitted. For a while I've had the idea of taking a horrible sounding premise and trying to make as good of a level as I can using that premise. Although looking at the scores it would seem that most of the judges did not have a fun time in my level, which is again what I was expecting. Sorry for any frustrations I caused.

I wish I had gotten the chance to fine tune things a bit, but at some point during testing I got too good at it and found myself thinking "maybe this is too easy", at which point I immediately deemed myself unfit for making any further changes to the level, aside from bug fixes and a secret that I presume no one found.

Because why would anyone think to kill the one non-switch goomba at the end of the second section and then backtrack to the beginning of the section to find a moon?

I made my level supper short because I didn't think people would actually like the auto-runner gimmick; it was more to see if it was something I could actually implement.
I was very surprised by how much the judges liked the concept. I think I might build upon it in the future. Of course, I already have the auto-runner code, so I can focus on things like camera positioning and checkpoints.
