One more issue: I need to know where a "Kill" block is so I don't swim in upside-down lava.
All graphics are loaded on a per-sublevel basis, so just use Super GFX bypass to change SP4 to what it needs to be (same as the other level that also uses roto-discs)

Second issue: You could try using this as a suitable replacement. Insert both files as ExGFX and use Layer 3 bypass (green poison mushroom) to select the Graphics and the Tilemap.

Third issue: Do you know how to use blocktool GPS?

The rotodiscs are fixed, but now the spotlight is a garbled mess. I'll have to live with that.

Can you walk me through inserting the Ludwig bg into the game? (I'm sorry, I'm trying to find what you said earlier about something else, but I can't make sense out of what's what anymore)

If I have to learn yet another tool to fix the lava I'll just have to live with that, too.

You know what, never mind. I'm just going on as is.

I'm sorry, I just find all these programs grossly counter-intuitive and about as user friendly as the neighbors Rottweiler. (no wonder MaGLXes gets entries in the triple digits when regular MaGLs get less than 50)

Is this MAGL going to have an overworld? The past 2 were just individual files and it was so irritating and time consuming to locate every level file XD

It will not

I will, however, throw together a ZIP file of the levels once the judging is done in case people want to "play along" with raocow.

I just realized I forgot to copy the ROM before I started...can I just download the ROM again or am I screwed?

All clean, un-headered ROM's of the game are the same, so you can just go ahead and look for another one.

As I recall, Zyglrox Odyssey had said he was interested in helping make the overworld?

It'd be more accurate to say 'trying to make an overworld' tbh but yes I did say something to that effect. I dunno if that's happening what with the whole 'it'd delay the results maybe' thing though, ultimately that's not my call.

If you're down, we can try it. Once I've finished judging and we have the results, I can take a look at the levels and let you know how feasible I think it will be. If it's like, 50+ levels riddled with code, I wouldn't recommend it, but if it's mostly vanilla with the odd gimmick level here or there, we could make it work.

i can't imagine a map being feasible. people use their own patches and player graphics + yoshis house / some other non-judged levels for stories that'd just be a nightmare to try and assemble, and levels might lose their context if they dont have an intro or yoshis house-type level.

I would volunteer to port the custom, non-uber ASM (but only once the judging is done and with a lot of testing afterwards).

I mean, if you're going to make an overworld, you're at least going to need my asm patches if my level is to be included.
Or I could take the disqualification to the face, but idk

Honestly though, considering what idol said; yeah don't do an OW. At least not for the raocow playthrough - maybe for public availability afterwards.

Reiterating what this guy said.

I don't want people to get angry because they only have 5 lives to beat my level.

I would love to help make the Over world since I spent all day learning it. My question is, are custom title sequences allowed for the contest.

Yes, you can do what you want with the title, though only the content in the level will be judged.

I can't get the IPS to attach to a post in the submission thread. But then maybe that isn't how it's supposed to be done anyway. CONFUSION

Download Floating IPS (linked in my main post in the Submissions thread). You'll need your edited ROM and a clean ROM as well.

It's alright to be hyped as all heck. It's practically your creation and now you're watching it grow up. You're like a granny 'n stuff!

Thanks. Here is the current version. I mostly hope that the graphics and music work.
