Writing Contest: Good night little child
RESULTS DOWNLOAD
Welcome all to the first official writing contest brought to you by Clamfolk Corporation™, things for the people, by the clamkind, famously known in the literature industry for our novellas and Dungeons & Dragons campaigns. In this competition, you will be asked to produce a story that will then be judged by our qualified critics here at Clamfolk Corporation™. Sign-ups will end on September 1st 2015 at 23:59PM EST, you will then have 3 weeks to produce and finalize your work and submit it to our offices, meaning you'll have until September 22nd 2015, 23:59PM EST. Here are a few things to note:
-Your story may be of any genre and in any form, so if you're feeling like writing a short fanfic about the burning love of Alice for Marisa, a sci-fi novella about the deep moral struggles of William Adama or a dramatic script revolving around your favourite characters from Everyone Loves Raymond; go for it! This contest is a free-for-all and as long as your story is good at being itself, you should receive positive feedback.
-There is no word limit/minimum, however we highly suggest you don't just write 4 basic sentences and call it a day.
-We at Clamfolk Corporation™ recommend you don't apply the high-school principle of doing your story at the last minute, for quite obvious reasons.
-For the duration of the contest phase, you may modify your work at any point and resubmit it, as long as you respect the deadline. Submissions sent past the specified date and time will NOT be accepted.
-NSFW stories are allowed, warnings will be implemented accordingly to prevent complaints from over-protective parents, worry not.
For those curious about the reviewing process, after the contest phase is over, our fantastic critics will evaluate your work and come up with a review that will then be posted on the forums after the judging phase is over. Your story will be rated using the most complex five-star system EVER.
Content: ✩✩✩✩✩
Originality: ✩✩✩✩✩
Structure: ✩✩✩✩✩
Overall: ✪✪✪✪✪
Winner will receive a banner and/or a trophy (depends if we're allowed to be nice or not). Submissions (which may be subject to corrections and/or modifications) will then be compiled and put into a neat little book thing to distribute to the public*. May the best writer win!
Tips for those who need them:
-No ideas? Just use this thing right here! http://fantasynamegenerators.com/story- ... dzpYfTUXTE
-The spellchecking tool exists for a reason: remember that your grammar and syntax can win you a place or two more on the standings
-Doubting your idea? Don't.
-You're in it to win it! No other person on this planet is better than you at writing, so go all out! Impress everyone and their grandpas!
-Progress slowly but surely, going too fast may lead to plot holes or a boring style. Write a little each day, let the inspiration come to you.
-Get a friend to judge your work! Even if they don't know jack they can still help...probably.
-Tell your friends, tell your dog, tell your other dog, tell your family, tell your secret second family and tell the cashier guy working at the closest 7-Eleven!

Re: Writing Contest: Sign-up Phase
now I don't promise anything to be submitted, but sure, why not, I could use something to motivate writing again. No matter where I place this should be fun!
Only one question: do we have to wait for the contest to "begin" (september 2nd) to start writing or can we start whenever we like?

Re: Writing Contest: Sign-up Phase
I must surely indulge in this contest about writing of fiction made by fans
By the way, is it alright if we can submit a voice reading (not automated, though) along with the story? I think that it'd add more flavor if someone's good at storytelling, especially if it's in the field they're writing in.

I'll try something.
Many people need desperately to receive this message: I feel and think much as you do, care about many of the things you care about, although most people do not care about them. You are not alone.

Sure, I'll give this a shot. I am regularly writing things at the moment, so I'll hopefully certainly complete a submission.

I guess I'll sign up. I must warn you all, I received an award for writing on the internet once, so you are all IN TROUBLE!
Re: Writing Contest: Sign-up Phase
mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I might do something. It would be kinda cool to have a prompt/theme though.
