Or I guess Leet kinda has the right idea too re: the 'shared' events and the character-specific events. Being able to pursue non-romantic friendships with other characters would be a plus, I think.
I don't know how possible that all is (possibly out of our reach for now), but that would be my ideal visual novel thingajigger. I imagine this project would stick with specific plotlines for specific characters though.
This would be really difficult to implement for mainly two reasons:
1) If we're going to implement it within the boundaries of standard RenPy code, we'll need a LOT of coding, jumps and event flags (not impossible with a good coder, but this will get very annoying for them very fast).
2) If we're going to
actually do it Persona-4-Style, featuring screens that you can navigate your character through freely (using the directional arrows, for example), then that requires even more coding and many, many more graphics.
I think both options are really out-of-scope for this sort of collaboration. Currently, we still have only about 6 people who've announced their interest in the project, and only three of them are artists (with a projected 6 character paths at least, 8 at most).
If we can find a coder who'd be willing to do either of those two things, we can consider it, but right now, with their position being practically open, this would just be way out of our scope.
