Demo's voice In ASM64T
So a couple people were asking about changing Mario's voice in ASM64T, I've been fooling around with The N64 Sound tool and I'm sure that with tinkering Mario's voice could be replaced with a new Demo voice.
I'm not sure If Demo really should be voiced however or even If there is anyone on the Talkhaus willing to voice her. If not Mario's sound effects can easily be removed and his Jump sounds replaced with springy electroniky ones.
So anyway, should demo be given a voice actor and if so who.

I can't give input on who, but I think voiced would be better than not, although naturally this all depends on if there's someone with a good voice for her out there willing to do it. ^^
We could always ask raocow to make a Casting Call video later down the road if nobody steps up too.

Re: Demo's voice In ASM64T
Eh... I think Demo should not have voices. Only sound effect are good.
Because I can't think of a good voice that would suit her, and I don't really want Demo to have a canon voice. It's best to let the player imagine how Demo sound like. Don't ruin our imagination man.
But I think only raocow should decide if Demo need a voice or no, since he is the creator of Demo.

It should totally be a completely unfitting voice.

I think it'd be hilarious if we got raocow to do either over-the-top voice samples for Demo, or extremely stoic and lifeless samples.
Re: Demo's voice In ASM64T
I wouldn't be against Demo having some voice for this game, as it's not gonna influence the rest of the Demoverse anyway, and I would like to hear something like that.

I'm honestly not to sure about importing voices now, so far the clips I've imported don't sound too not terrible. It's trivially easy to remove them though.
If someone does want to voice act they will likely need to submit a ton of voice clips so the working ones can be fished out.
If there is voice acting her Jump sounds should be replaced with "une, deux, trois" and her falling sound should sound like this
It could effect the Demoverse, what if another game needs her voiced.Paralars wrote:I wouldn't be against Demo having some voice for this game, as it's not gonna influence the rest of the Demoverse anyway, and I would like to hear something like that.
A super Mario galaxy thing is a possibility, or a grand theft auto thing (GTASMT).

Or you could vocode someone's voice through sound effects.
Actually that's a terrible idea don't do that.

I used the trumpet sounds already in the game along with some other random instruments, sounds weird.

This sounds like Demo's a little robot or something, but I quite like it!Demolition wrote:Oh man, raocow commented on my thread, my life is 30% more complete!raocow wrote:I was thinking exactly this except, like, a trumpet or something.sturgyman wrote:Like I said before, kazoo and whistle sounds.

that sounds more like a weird electric guitar than a trumpet

Well that was silly, I give no opinion yet. How would we replace the 'Here we go' on obtaining a Star?

It sounds kind of like a trombone farting. I have no comment on whether that's appropriate or not.

I really liked that, although it probably needs a little work. It's definitely right sort of thing!

Re: Demo's voice In ASM64T
So, the alien demon cyclops girl, despite having talked before, is going to be "voiced" using weird trombone and trumpet sounds? Sounds like a plan, I guess.
Because Touhou OCs can in fact exist, sounds fake I know.

Re: Demo's voice In ASM64T
That is awesome, but a couple of the sounds are kinda grating and they should be goofier imo
Re: Demo's voice In ASM64T
I really like this.
It's strangely adorable and syncs well with her animations! I wouldn't have expected such a low pitch, but the slight, apparent dissonance between size and voice fits her alien nature pretty well!

Use those for Iris, but have her exclaim them like special attacks in fighting games or anime... or if that's too silly, how about something woodwind-y?Cloaytonem2 wrote:Just make it a bunch cartoon-y noises.

I didn't know demo had the power to summon blue hands at will.Demolition wrote:Iris will probably just be NPCOctagon wrote: Use those for Iris, but have her exclaim them like special attacks in fighting games or anime... or if that's too silly, how about something woodwind-y?Like thisXirix wrote:Well that was silly, I give no opinion yet.
