It's been a while since we first made this thread, but at long last the A Superb Discord Thing (tentative title) server is open! Huge thanks to RedMageSusie and Sarn for helping with the setup!
As previously discussed, the server does requires verification to access the main channels and projects; with that said, the verification process is quick and easy with just a few clicks needed. You'll find instructions on how to start in the rules channel.
SERVER INVITE LINK ACTION POWER MODE
ORIGINAL POST:
We've already been aiming to open up A2XT Episode 2's dev documentation to the community alongside the release of the devkit, but we previously weren't planning to make a dedicated Discord server until planning for Episode 3 rolled around. All things considered, though, we're overdue for one -- the AZCT, MaGLX3, and JUMP teams have had their own servers for a while (edit: apparently not AZCT, my bad!) and we even made a perfectly-repurposable server for the old GURP game's development that's just kinda sitting there collecting dust.
But this shouldn't just be a server for A2XT2. Discord is a flexible platform and the ABCD canon is more than just the SMBX games! Let’s consolidate things into a single place where, in the spirit of the open and transparent collabs that started this series, the entire community can follow along and participate in the discussions and development process of every ASMT series game from here on out:
the A Superb Discord Thing server (tentative name)!
For the basic structure of the server, these are our initial ideas:
So with all of that said, let us know what you all think about this proposal and don't hesitate to share any questions, concerns, or suggestions!

the A Superb Discord Thing server (tentative name)!
For the basic structure of the server, these are our initial ideas:
- A main channel group for your usual server rules, general discussion, showcase, memes and so on. Also a channel for series-wide resources such as the ASMT wiki, raocow's art of the characters, links to previous games’ LPs, and tangential/supplemental materials like ATXS.
- Each game project can get its own group with channels for different aspects of development based on the project's needs: for example, Ep. 2 would probably have ones for source control updates, testing, writing, design, graphics, audio, programming, general discussion, and external documentation.
- When the server is ready the link should be publicly available in this thread, and everyone who joins should be able to view every project's channels with the possible exception of per-project opt-in roles for more spoiler-heavy channels. Posting in the server should require basic verification (to prevent spambots and such) and project teams could further restrict posting permissions for certain channels in their group based on specific involvement-related roles: A2XT2 Developer, SDS2 Contributor, AMMXT Level Reviewer, etc.
So with all of that said, let us know what you all think about this proposal and don't hesitate to share any questions, concerns, or suggestions!

We feel this extra layer of security will be important for keeping the server safe and civil once it launches, but rest assured that we'll aim to keep the verification process quick and simple and anyone who just wants to follow along with project development will still be more than welcome to lurk after getting verified.everyone who joins should be able to view every project's channels with the possible exception of per-project opt-in roles for more spoiler-heavy channels.
