World 9 Castle collab level
Making this thread now to get it out of the way, and so we can discuss/decide on how to do this level.
We agreed to do a collab level for this one, either a relay level, or something like Trial of Iron (ASMT) or Shattered Dreams (JUMP)

I'd say make it more like the trial of iron where you can choose betwen several rooms in a "capsule" room. After each challenge (which should be on the hard side) there would be a checkpoint. :)
This way it is different from the World 8 Castle but still isn't too much of a random "mess" like in a relay level.

A gimmick of the previous game? Nah... I thnk the game shouldn't look too much back into the past but actually do something new or creative. And if it's just good old but challenging platforming it's wonderful. If it has a gimmick it's wonderful as well.
However I wouldn't do stuff from a previous episode.

How long would the overall level be? And what's the general theme? Like an "All the Worlds are One" level or a consistent theme?

I only suggested it, because aren't we already doing a relay level in the form of the World 8 castle? I thought it would be nice to have a slightly different relay level that has a unique feel to it. And what better way than to make it a retread of Episode 1? So, for example, let's say the Spiny Jump gimmick from MAGLX2 was in the last episode. The original level maker would not be allowed to do a section with that gimmick, but somebody else could. It would be interesting to see how a completely different level maker would tackle the same idea. Would they find a new unique use for the spiny jump?

It's not really a relay, it's a collab level similar to A2MT's final castle where you have to go through 4 out of 12 doors, but set up so that raocow can go LP all 12 doors if he desires.

My thought was, unlike the World 8 castle, you'd have to do all the sections in order, sorta like in VIP2.

I guess we should probably start this. It looks like it'll be a relay, with people getting a full section instead of just a screen, similar to VIP2's final Castle. This means only 20 people can do a section, unless people want to split on a section (section 21 is the final boss).
Only real requirements is to put a checkpoint at the end of your section, try to keep the background motif if possible (though you do have some leeway), make it playable by all characters (just like Castle 8) and don't change the music (like in JUMP's final level).
This is the true final level, so go wild (but try to avoid Kaizo)
If you need ideas/inspiration:
ASMT Final Level
