Costumes for Ep. 2 (artists and opinions needed!)

I've gone and updated the original post with submission rules/guidelines and lists of what costumes and ideas we have. Next time I update the list I'll add links to the finished ones.

And as per the guidelines, my progress update on 1px Demo: just finished up the small sheet, haven't tested the last ones in-game yet so they may look a bit wonky.

I've also gone back and added a paper styled ice and fireball for Paper Demo.

I'm not to familiar with the Dr. Who series, but aren't there different versions of him? If so them it may be interesting to have different power ups change him into different doctors or something.

nah Kood is just another iteration of Dr. Who he just didn't come out human this time

I'm way too lazy to make a different one for each powerup.

It's possible I'll try and do that for episode 3 though, we'll see.

Finished GB Kood. Theres a few issues with the alignment that I couldn't figure out, sorry.

I've actually started a simple set for each character. The general idea is is to have the characters dressed as the official characters that they are swapped from.



And yes, that does mean we'll have Kood in a dress.

I also have plans to do at least Demo in 8bit, and a special other costume (this one being a full new character costume).

That is brilliant. I sometimes have difficulties distinguishing Demo against certain blue backgrounds. That costume will help so much!

Oh, that reminds me, can't recall if I've posted this yet, but heres my currect to-do list, now with the SMBX Cosplay base sprites.

These are great. I just want to ask one question about Toad-cosplay raocow, though. How easy would it be to have a tuft of brown hair sticking out from underneath the mushroom cap? I ask because he looks indistinguishable from Toad.

Shouldn't be too hard. The only possible issue I can imagine would be making sure it looked like hair and not some wierd shading, but again, I think it should be doable.

Finished GBDemo. Due to how the GB sprites are set up (they have to use even numbers of pixels on the width/height), some sprites weren't aligned properly, so there may be some issues, but the misalignments should be consistent across the entire sheet that they are on.

Sheath was a bit tricky to work into the style, but I like what I have. Theres a bit of jank, but I feel like it captures the original GB feel where you could tell they were going for a much more detailed sprite, but were limited due to color/size restrictions, so you get an awkward looking blob that was meant to be some sort of super death god or whatever.

Oh yeah, you're right. The hair on Toad cosplay raocow just ends up looking like shading. Oh well, can't do much about it, I guess, unless he has an R painted on his chest but that would be silly.
