It used to not have checkpoints....
....
It has checkpoints with the leeks, right?
Effectively, yes. The leeks open up "Luna shortcut" pipes that let the player skip parts of the level. The level also has a normal checkpoint at the Demo-statue-background section.

Also oh man, the relay level is kind of annoyingly difficult, to the point where hey, I'll just finish this another time, because the semi-boss rush at the beginning of "dream world" is kind of a killer, probably just because I play bad.
Assuming you're talking about the section with the "Stupid Horse": are you using the powerups in the underwater castle?

Try all the doors. In particular, try entering doors that you've just come out of.

New favourite level - Abstract Assault ^^

Some bizarre pattern I see there. And riding a shell in

So what you're saying is that my levels are the fun ones? xP (The Floor is Lava, Calleoca and Abstract Assault are my levels)

Riding a shell is actually very simple in smbx. If you simply walk, no running, onto a shell you should stay on it just fine 95% of the time.

I think the shell was changed to have a surface you can just stand on too. So it's easier than normal.

Well, I enjoyed them, The Floor is Lava is nice and fluffy (I probably get angry at secret exit through), I like shoot'em up, so Assault bought me. As for Calleoca, I died four times at first phase and after that I beat whole level (I was terrribly stressed). End of the fight is funny ^^

Yes, you can stand there on shell, but it sometimes accelerate more and react too late and when it hit walls, your character moves a bit. Also spike are pain, I dislike their hitbox. I mean you get hit by empty part of the spike and even if you're standing on floor, you can get hit by them. Not fun.

I will admit... The floor is lava... the secret exit is kind of annoying... So is city run... but city run is annoying because I had a lot of unfair deaths. I kept on getting caught in walls... not jumping properly... and that is about is. Those are my two least favourite levels.

is castle of the world supposed to start (after talking to Adam Malkovich and going in the pipe) with you standing on an invisible floor that you have to jump off of but the jump is impossible and you cant see where the floor ends because invisible
i downloaded shemp's patch incase it was that but apparently that did nothing
after using the magic of reading i found that is indeed the thing shemp's patch was supposed to fix!
for the record i never downloaded the super leek patch in the first place either :B

If you downloaded the game recently then the super leek patch would have been included, since SAJ has been incorporating patches into the download.

nope it was quite a bit ago
but im assuing it would be irrelevant given that the next patch didn't fix it (and in theory you wouldn't need both since one of them's the one that's supposed to break it) so im wondering what the heck i've done to break it

A2XT\Main Game\worlds\Episode 1 OST is supposed to open a playlist of music files, but some of the items in the playlist don't work. I think whoever saved the playlist used one's own directory for those items?

It works for me. And it seems to open the correct files when I launch the versions of the game I have saved under other directories (ie it's not always just opening the one in the A2XT folder, it chooses the right file for the one I installed to "A2XT Beta")

Sample of what I get when trying to play a broken file:
C:\Users\Shayne\Documents\ASMBXT dev kit\ASMBXT\main game\worlds\A2MBXT\A2XTRelay\117 Labyrinth IV - The Blue Sea Temple of Ritual.mp3

I did a thing.
This is probably a glitch inherent to SMBX, but in any case it's very much a thing that can happen. Not that I'm entirely sure how it happened, all I know is I flew into it and suddenly whoops I'm in the ceiling.
Also I don't know if it's been noticed and fixed already but the guy at the entrance of world 4's town says "It's actually right above of where we're standing." Pretty sure that's a typo?

I'm a complete idiot. The super leek patch I released a while back is what is breaking Castle of the World for some people. If you've applied the Super Leek patch, you need to apply this as well to be able to start the level.
So just extract that to the Episode 1 folder? Because I just did that and it's not working.

Would that update be compatible whether or not you applied the various individual updates Doctor Shemp posted?

Actually managed to beat the game, this is a pretty amazing game really. Though I did have a lot of glitches with some of the special scripting stuff in the final levels and postgame, most notably things eventually glitching out and not working properly or just not spawning at all (up to and including the final boss just straight up vanishing mid fight) but im gonna assume thats the smbx engine acting up.That ending though...
is the joke just that it abruptly ends there or am I supposed to actually go back and do something?

every time I play the floor is lava, some of the moving platforms dont spawn, so its kinda impossible for me to beat legit (fortunately im ok with being a big cheater).

Any shell? Even non-block top'd ones?

If you're referring to the postgame,
it's the joke. I guess they had nothing to give us. :V
