SAJewers wrote:As interesting as an idea this is, it's kind of too late, as we already have people making OW music (I still have 1 or 2 to add, depending on what sturgyman thinks, plus 2 people have already claimed 2 slots).

As well, there are only 16 OW music slots. If we only do this for Episode 1, then we become very limited for Episodes 2-4 in regards to OW music (to the point where it's unfeasible). If we do this for every Episode, then you'd have to create a bunch of Generic tracks that can fit multiple different themes.
Well, that's a bummer. In any case I'd already written something for World 1, so feel free to use it if you want. It's definitely too loud now: if you plan to use it, tell me what max dB it needs to be and I'll relevel it myself as doing it in Audacity and reexporting will cause a quality drop.

Maybe you could use it in the credits or something. It kind of fits that vibe too.

I'll slot this into one of the OW slots.

Also, some time ago, Demolition made this for dungeon-win.mp3. thoughts? http://www.mediafire.com/listen/ujypmb7 ... ungeon.mp3

Well, I like it. It has almost a light-hearted/cartoonish feel to it.

The composition itself is good. The mixing isn't at all. It's muddy and indistinct. The instrumentation could be better as well but it's not as bad as the mixing by a long shot.

If it's based off a MIDI I can re-instrument it and mix it better, or if Demolition could give me the audio stems for each track I could mix it better as well.

I'm not sure how to export a midi from garage band, it's a really simple track though
I actually have a more updated version that I think is a bit better

Well now you have the problem of having no dynamics. When someone's really playing a piano they don't hit every note with the same velocity, and they certainly don't hit them as hard as your track does except for emphasis. Not for a whole track.

As for exporting as a MIDI, GarageBand is shitty about that. You can however select a loop and go Edit->Add to Loop Library. One of the loops created should be .mid Just do that for every loop in the track. A better way would be to give me the stems, although I stress again that the piano one needs more dynamics which would be done at your end. Tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ico2EIzwjuY

After much thought, I've decided it might be a good idea to have some tracks in one of my levels replaced.

For my level, Shroom Caves I'm currently using:

Electric Dolphin Funk for the main level.

Fight or Fight for the boss fight at the end of the level.

They're pretty good, but now that I know the source material's going to be properly released as a commercial game, I'm a bit hesitant to use these now. Is someone willing to do a remix of these or could somebody recommend alternatives that won't cause an issue?

Hey Demolition, are you going to fix up one of the versions of your jingle or give it to me to fix? What's the deal?

Are there any levels that use the following songs:

SMB Underground
SMB2 Boss
Rose Town
SM64 Snow
Mother Brain

I have a level song to put in, and I'm thinking of Axing one of those songs, sine I think they're not being used.

EDIT: Holy Crap, there were people who submitted songs for ASMBXT that never got used. Gonna use some of these.

Thinking of Making the Following Changes:

Rose Town -> https://soundcloud.com/patashu/chiptune ... -wandering (Submitted for ASMBXT)

SM64 Snow -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYPdnbi- ... e=youtu.be (Submitted for ASMBXT)

SMW Overworld -> http://youtu.be/OEUQMxFCZT4 (The ASMT-made remix)

SMB2 Boss -> https://soundcloud.com/maikuwotaharu/ju ... for-a2mbxt (Submitted a few posts back)

Thoughts?

Also, Back a few months ago when Septentrion's video review of Sloppy Sands got nailed with a Youtube ContentID violation for using Donkey Kong Returns, I was also told that a video review of Wooden Platforms Hanging in the Sky was nailed as well, which used the Defualt SMB3 Sky music (itself a remix from Galaxy 2 STTB used). I'm starting to think it might be a good idea to swap that out, as well as look at other songs currently used that might trigger contentID violations. Thoughts?

Sorry i only have limited time each week to mess around with garage band (I go to a music group every sunday for about 3 hours)

If you want to make your own jingle i won't mind at all

I'm all for it,honestly. The more 'original stuff', the better, in terms of basic ressources, I reckon.

All good pieces, but I don't like the idea of swapping boss themes out with calm music. We should really be replacing like with like, so when they click on a button that says Boss, they get intense boss theme music.

Good Point. Maybe I'll swap SMB Underground instead then.

Yeah, I kinda agree. I know the Original Terry Von Feleday SMBX content Replacement project had the goal of replacing pretty much everything possible. If we could do this, that would be great, though I hinestly don't expect every block to be replaced for this.

It would take a quarter of an hour at the very most to bounce the tracks or the MIDIs then zip/rar them and send them to me. From then on all the work would be at my end. If that's really too much to ask then I can knock something up myself I suppose, but it'll be pretty by-the-numbers.

EDIT: WHOOPS SCREWED UP THIS POST IN MISTAKEN EDITING. DISREGARD!

Here is a random collection of songs from PK2 custom episodes. I was planning on using some of these on my levels. Maybe some of them can work as music replacements.

Since we're going to change the music entirely, can I request some old-timey music for Farina Station? Specifically, something for the outdoors part (in place of Mario's Pad) and something else for the flooded library section (in place of Seaside Town)?

I have been going to a music drop in center on the weekends and have been trying my hand at composing songs for A2MBXT. I made a few songs for comma man for who I am a huge fan and a song to replace the one I used in my Navada battle (the one I was using would likely get flagged).
I'm unsure of the quality of these songs as I have mostly been my own judge, better than my dungeon victory music I made though.

Blood God 1
Blood God 2
Blood God 2.5
Blood God 3
Navada

Blood god 3 was the first song I made and is the base for the others, I put in on the bottom because I don't really love it. Blood god 2 might work well for a map or something.

How about this?

EDIT: Or if you want, we could just put those songs in as custom music.

The music you have for the Nevada Battle is probably fine, since it's already on youtube, and doesn't have a "buy this song" link attached to it.

The song you linked is pretty catchy. I think it'll go well in the outdoors part. As for the flooded library section, the latter proposition is better.

These are significantly better than your dungeon music. I'm still not a fan of your lack of dynamics in your piano parts (in this case in Navada) but at least it sounds partially appropriate here. It'd be better still with more dynamics though.

So after a bit of reshuffling (apologies on this, but some of the songs I had pegged fit in a much better shot than what I has originally ascribed) and adding in a few A2MT songs I missed, we now only need to replace the following:

SMB Underground
SMB Water
SMB2 Boss
SMB3 Underground
SMB3 Battle
SMW Boss
SMRPG Bowser Battle
SM64 Main Theme
Misc Item Room
Misc Mother Brain

SMB3 OW2
SMB3 OW7
SMB3 OW8
SMW Special World
SMW Vanilla Dome
NSMB Overworld

See this post for the full list of music changes.

EDIT: haha, missed 1 more SA2MT song, plus 2 ASMT songs. Derp.
