Question: was Devkit updated recently or does it still have the outdated sounds and the outdated version of Lunadll?

Hey, has anyone else had trouble with the devkit setting off their virus protection software when they try to run it?

Yeah, that happens with quite a few antiviruses. They don't seem to like the modded launcher.

Copy-pasting from the level review thread, where some folks had trouble getting a recently submitted level to run because they had an outdated version of LunaDLL:
Mindez wrote:(Anybody else that may have been confused, the new LunaDLL is here viewtopic.php?f=36&t=14980 - I just made a copy of the base folder, not sure if it's backwards compatible with the episode 1 LunaDLL or not)
Should this updated LunaDLL be made part of the DevKit (if it's not already)? Or at least linked in the opening post of this thread as an add-on to the existing DevKit?

I'll make it part of the Devkit/Basegame one I get confirmation it doesn't break existing Episode 1 levels.

Set up an exception for the whole A2XT folder and you'll be fine. Setting up an exception just for a2mbxt.exe doesn't always work.

Wait are the level submissions open right now or not?
I know it may sound stupid but i'm confused since it says that they're not open on the wiki.

Not the official one for the Episode 2, but the general one is open: http://asmbxt.wikia.com/wiki/A2MBXT_Levels

If you have one or more levels ready, I'd say to post them here so that others can playtest, review, and offer feedback.

Sorry if I missed this somewhere, but is there an official position on changing player sprites to non-A2MT characters?

My level has Marisa and Reimu as playable characters (re-sprites of Demo/Iris), and sedron noted in his/her review that it doesn't really feel like an A2MT level since it doesn't actually include any of the characters. When I first made the level (during Episode 1 submission), I got the idea it would be fine since it seemed like a game that just threw together a bunch of levels that people made, but then Episode 1 ended up having a fair amount of character/plot focus, so I can see it being more out of place than I initially thought. Should I change the sprites back to Demo/Iris, or is that an author's choice thing?

SUMBITTING TO A2XT

So, you want to create a level for A2XT? Well, go right ahead. Download the A2MBXT Devkit and open up to the level editor and make a level.
These links go to different devkits. The first one has at least one graphical error, in that background-107 is still the SMB3 door instead of the A2XT door. I don't know what the other differences between the two devkits are aside from that one is an executable and one is a zip file.

To submit your level, do the following:
That link actually goes to the episode 1 levels page. It's pretty easy to find the episode 2 page from there, but it would still be nice to fix this.

Just a note that I've updated the OP. Main thing to note is that music needs to be in Ogg Vorbis instead of MP3, in order to take advantage of new features in LunaLUA (mainly reading metadata tags for the purposed of the music cheat).

You can grab Audacity, open an MP3 and export it as an OGG Vorbis, no problem. Really simple job.

Yeah, it's not hard. The main problem I've found is with ReplayGain. There's nothing as good as MP3Gain for normalizing the audio. If anyone knows something good that can be used for Episode 2, that would be great. (the Best option I've found has been WinVorbis, but to me, it made the sound effects sound louder then the music when I used it on the Base Game Sounds and Music)

I've not yet tried it, but I presume VorbisGain works in a similar manner and would be suitable for the ogg files. Looks promising to me anyway

I tried that, but the same issue. Also, Winvorbis uses Vorbisgain.

EDIT: What I need is a Windows version of EasyMP3Gain, or to install a linux VM for it.

Hey, Base Game Updated!

CHANGELOG:

- Replaced all of Dr. Shemp's music
- Replaced Navada by Demolition (smb3-hammer) That song is now relegated to Episode 1 (which apparently was what was supposed to happen with that song)
- Updated to the latest version of LunaDLL, with LunaLa and SDL, Lunaloader, and that stuff
- The A2MT Big Boo replacement is now the default Big Boo if you don't change it in your level.
- Replaced a few sound effects
- Probably other things I forgot.

Still uploading: give it about a half an hour: http://www.mediafire.com/download/9rqiq ... nstall.exe

It's not something that will be fixed by just trying again. I did a quick google, and this error is fairly common. Different operating systems can alter it, potentially different extraction destinations can too.

I would suggest scrapping the fancy installer and just uploading it as a .zip or .rar file.
