Darky I believe he:
A) Wants it to only move up and down.
B) Wants you to start within the note block.

At least that's what I'm getting.

At least that's what I'm getting.
This was an example.
A) You can set "Don't Move" to yes to bar horizontal movement
B) You can place the player to drop into it.

Wow, I really wish I knew about the cockpit. All I knew was that the bowser car exist, and it's not very custom.

It was partially removed from the game, probobly because people thought it would be a good idea to use it as lakitu clouds and we all know how that turns out.
You can still get to it through the "lakitus throwing lakitus" npc menu.

What about the speed of the movement? Can you actually control how fast the layer moves with the player as well, or is it fixed at that particular rate?

Is it possible to make a flying Larry? Attaching him to a layer containing a chasing Paragoopa and then turning his gravity off only makes him walk around in a straight line in the air and it's goofy. Plus he won't fire any shots.

I was planning the same thing actually. Here's how I would do it.
make the level with a specific character in mind, and use a floor of the character-passthrough boxes for Larry, and use events as desired.

Posting message in correct thread this time!

Is there any way to say something along the lines of "I don't want enemy x to take damage from a flung shell, but throwing something else still does damage" , while still dealing damage to the player?
That makes raocow a victim of proprietary software.

Anybody know how to fix a "RunTimeError481: Invalid Picture"?
Trying to insert a custom graphic and this is really stumping me.

You probably deleted one of the game files accidentally, reinstalling the game should fix it

Enemies usually move indepent of the layer they are on unless they are on one of the blocks. It's should be easy to use blocks to controll him.

Oh, nevermind. Found out the problem. It had something to do with me saving my graphics as .png instead of 24-bit .bmp in Paint. (Something like npc-whatever.gif as the name and .bmp as the extension.)

I actually did some testing on this for the Sheath Courage level. Only Mother Brain, Pirana Plants, and coins can be manipulated with layers/events.

I was able to do as Sodium said and put ol' Larry in a character-block cage attached to an invisible Paragoopa, thusly!

However, it wasn't really worth it in the end because however you arranged his cage there was always a nonzero chance of him
a. escaping his cage and becoming a sitting duck
or b. somehow crushing himself against the wall/inside of his cage and dying (and no, the cage never goes far enough through the wall to crush him inside; oftentimes he will just up and drop dead for no apparent reason)

I apologize if this kind of thing was asked before, but is there a way to make collected coins reappear in some way such as entering a kind of "reset door" ? I'm trying to work on a puzzle that relies on collecting coins a certain way and I'd rather not have the punishment be killing the player and having them start the level over if they mess up

I would continue tinkering with it, if I was in your position, which I I'm. I might share if I get it to work.

How do I make a readable message? I set up an event that is supposed to be activated when you talk to a sign, but I can't talk to the sign while testing.

Also how do I make Lakitu invincible?

1) in the NPC menu there's a "message" box type stuff in there.
2)make him friendly.

The only real options you have are generators or the "Clone Section" tool (but after so many tries, they have to die).

Can anyone tell me how to get a big bubble (the background thing + some water tiles) to actually move like the bubbles in SMW did? Because I can't get it to work right.

He means the Water Bubble thingy in Backgrounds, I think.
