Not a stream and not a single-segment video. That means these kind of runs will get their own section. Could see some more on here in the near future whenever we get burned out on the skilled Blue Bomber series. We'll see.
Mega Man X4, a 1997 release, was the first MMX game developed with the 32-bit era consoles in mind. They brought their best with this one as it is pure arcade-like action from the word go. When you look back at this series, even on the SNES, it was more run-and-gun than pure platforming. Always felt like this one did it the greatest. Maybe it's also because it turned into a hack-and-slash with Zero getting a leading role himself in this one. We'll play through this one twice as best we can. Let's rock, X! And let's go, Zero!
After an eight-year hiatus, Capcom gave the Blue Bomber one more chance to get into gear, and he did with a title that makes effective use of its gimmick in the Double Gear System. Since it's been a bit, let's give this one a fun, casual run through normal... and up the challenge at the very end to show we've still got it!
It's the one good game of the second Mega Man X Legacy Collection, so let's give it a spin! raocow's series basically gave me the desire to play the game again, and now that he's more than far enough ahead, I'm going to tackle it my own way in a silent run. Mm-hmm!
Using a better engine and bringing in a lot more submissions than the original, which was played by both Roahm, it's time for yours truly to tackle its sequel. I have to say that the changes were appreciated, so let's once again see what the fans can do for Mega Man's 30th Anniversary before Capcom makes it official next year. Happy Birthday, Mega, and welcome back!
This is a fan game that's been in development for quite a long time, so much so that I originally thought it was just a trailer that was never going to wind up being anything other than that. I was wrong, and I'm glad for that since it seems like this game is pretty fun. With stages that change things up between single player and co-op, this game is right up my alley. We'll find out, though, since this is a mostly blind run!
Zero Mission is a GBA remake of the original NES Metroid, and it is my favorite entry in the series because it mixes the old with the new so well. Better controls, new bosses, and additional content that's added on and not tacked in makes this one fun revisit to Samus' old stomping grounds. Like the Rockman FC games, I'm putting up a commentated and silent version of the game depending on whether or not you want to hear yours truly stumble around. Still, this is an attempt at an 100% speed run, so I won't be messing up that much... hopefully.
It's the game that a lot of Mega Man fans have been talking about but few seem to like. Is this a total train wreck like Sonic Boom was for the Blue Blur? Uh... no. Believe it or not, it's kind of fun. It just also isn't the second coming of the Blue Bomber like everyone had hoped for. Doing this as a first run dealio to test out the new PS4 for the heck of it. It's no 3DS, but it's better than nothing.
When I'm streaming games I'm not familiar with, you can expect them to take multiple parts. That's why they get their own section away from the Single Segment Runs.
This side story in the franchise took nearly five years and port from the Super Famicom to Game Boy Advance to get here. Since this game has two characters to play as, why not show both versions off? I hope you're in for the long haul because I know I'll have to be if I want to get through one of the more challenging entries of the classic series.
I tried the demo of this game over two and a half years ago. The game's come a long way since then, and with all of the main stages done, I think it's time to give this one a second chance. It's the 8-bit demake of one of my favorite Mega Man titles. Let's see how it goes!
So yeah, back when I joined this site, I was gearing up to make my first Mega Man series on here be MM7. That happened but playing this game along with it did not. Anyway, this is the fan game demake of Mega Man 7. Is it as good as the original? I don't think so, but it is fun to see the game turned into an NES title. Hope you all enjoy it.
Sonic CD is one of the Blue Blur's first departures from the norm. It may look like a Genesis title, but this one is in a league of its own. I happen to think highly of it, even if I don't think it's on par with the aforementioned system's games. It's still worth a shot, so I hope you take the time to watch this one.
Occasionally, I'll throw down a whole playthrough all at once. They're generally going to be few and far in between, but they're a nice break from the informative style I usually go for.
Mega Man Zero 4 is the last important 2D Mega Man game I had yet to beat. Once again, the goal of this game is to get through it with an overall S-Rank by the end of things. Will this go as well as Zero 3 went for me? Only time will tell... Also, this one does feature text commentary.
With the SNES era coming to a close at the start of 1996, Capcom saw fit to give owners one final Mega Man X game to complete the original trilogy. For many, including myself, I find it to be the weakest of the lot. That said, it still remains a quality title if only for the sheer amount of content packed into this little cartridge.
I've never beaten the last two games in the Zero series, and I want to change that beginning right now. This won't be a skilled or informative run, but rather, a first attempt of sorts. This is purely a gameplay series, so I'm sorry if you were looking for commentary. Still, I figured it'd be fun to see how I do on a pseudo-blind run style of series for a change. Please let me not regret this...
With X1 being the success that it was, it wasn't all that much of a surprise when Capcom brought Mega Man X2 to the Super Nintendo near the end of 1994. To me, it wound up taking what made the original so great and improved or refined it to an even higher quality title. Yes, this one is my favorite of the SNES trilogy, and I'm going to try to show you why.
When Mega Man X hit the Super Nintendo in early 1994, yours truly finally had a Mega Man game that he could enjoy. Yes, the classic series was deemed too hard by yours truly back when he was a kid, but this title made me appreciate the franchise's difficulty... so much so that I didn't beat this game until X3 was released. Let's hope I tackle this one a bit faster this time around, eh?
I think it's time to go on a co-op kick, and what better games to do it with than the turtles that kick shell? Yeah, these two titles were how I spent many of my Sunday early afternoons when I was a kid. My brother used to join me in playing at the arcade, and he's joining me for these playthroughs as well! Are we a dream team? Who cares? We're just here to have fun. Enjoy the show, everyone.
After the first game sold so well, Sega decided to have Dimps make a sequel for the fastest thing alive on the GBA. Released in North America in early 2003, Sonic Advance 2 really put an emphasis on the speed element more than anything else. Hold right to win? Maybe. Hold right to master? Not a chance.
Mega Man 8, a 1997 release, is the only game in the classic series to not debut on a Nintendo system. This is only the first of many unique things about this title. This is one of my favorite games in the classic series, and is usually the case, I'm going to do my best to give this game the proper respect it deserves. Mega Man 8 on the Playstation, let's do it!
Sonic Advance. The Blue Blur's first foray onto a Nintendo platform was a pretty big deal back in 2002. While Sonic Team's become a running joke in the last few years, the Nintendo handheld platformers have been spared from their... unique decisions. This is more of a test of my GBA recording capabilities more than anything. Let's see how it goes!
I mentioned at the end of the Mega Man 7 series that 8 just happened to be my third favorite of the console titles. Yeah, it's different, but it's a lot of fun. Put it in 8-bit form and it should please everybody, right? Not necessarily. This is less of a walkthrough and more of a test for my whole recording setup. Can I meet 2007 standards with a computer from 2006? We'll find out.
Mega Man 7, a 1995 release, is one of the most divisive games in the entire franchise. Some hated the jump from the NES to SNES look, Mega Man's sprite was too big, the action was too slow, the stages were this, the music was that... Look, I get that. The thing is, you're talking to someone that's a Mega Man fan and not an NES game purist. Therefore, even though it's not one of my favorites, it's time to show off what I know about the classic series' first SNES adventure.
Kirby's Dream Land was released in the summer of 1992 and is the very first game in the Kirby series. Back then, I had the choice of either getting it or Super Mario Land 2 for my Game Boy. I went with Mario and would not go on to play this particular game until the very start of 2009. Looks like we've got some catching up to do, eh? Let's get right to it!

Are you planning on doing the bonus mode?

Probably, but it will be in a spliced together bonus video. I'll try to show off as many of the differences that I can.
In the meantime, we've got a new video. Kirby takes on Castle Lololo! The link's been added to the list up top. Have at it.

The Float Islands are the third stop in our tour of Dream Land. I go from having little to say to barely having enough time to get everything out in time. What a dichotomy.

On to the Bubbly Clouds. Lots of items to collect here, a couple of secret areas to show off, and a confrontation with the first enemy that ever took me down in a Kirby game.

It's a duel for the dinner as Kirby clashes with King DeDeDe for the first time in the series! Link's at the top like usual, and I hope you all enjoy it.

I posted the first part of the Extra Mode playthrough, but a few people were having problems watching it, including myself. That's why the link up top is from the reuploaded version. Hopefully it works now.
This video covers the first three stages of our second quest, and it's noticeably tougher. Enemies deal more damage, have new attacks, and they'll actually try to hit you from the get-go. Looks like Kirby has his work cut out for him this time!

Part two of the Extra Game playthrough is now up. It's easily the most dangerous part of the journey thanks to the first half of Bubbly Clouds as well as the boss rush of the final stage. Making my way through that, I should have no problem taking down King DeDeDe...right?
Next time will be the final part. Enjoy, and see you there.

Kirby may not have fared too well against DeDeDe in the previous vid, but I'm sure the king will get what's coming to him in this one. After all, it's the final video of the series! After the climactic conclusion, it's on to taking a quick look at Config Mode before putting this one to bed.
That was fun to do a non-Mega Man series for a change. I'd actually like to do more like that in the future. Hope you enjoyed it.
Edit: The Viddler versions are up as well, so that's that for Kirby's Dream Land!

Well, we have a new series underway, and I'm back to doing what I (pretend to) do best, play Mega Man games in my usual style. I'm more of a slow approach gamer that will show off everything that I can remember about a title when I'm in this mode. I tried a similar approach with the Game Boy games, and that wound up being one of my favorite ones to do.
Hopefully, this series will wind up going the same way. The first video's merely the introduction although even that video has a couple of bonuses in it, and the second video is a playthrough of the opening stage where Mega Man meets up with Bass for the first time. He's one of my favorite post-NES editions to the series, and he's on our side! What a relief!
If you're going to follow this, then get in on the action by voting which stage you want to see me go through next in the Youtube comments. I always like this audience participation stuff.

It's an inside joke. Some friends wanted me to have a signature on Xbox Live. I kept saying "Nah" or "Nope" to that. When I finally went with a signature, I put down "Yep.".
For here, I just wanted to put something besides Bean plays whatever, and so it works once again... Yep.

Freeze Man wound up winning the vote thankfully, and that means I can go through and get Rush Search at the earliest possible convenience...now. The level itself is pretty easy, although the boss is somewhat annoying to no-hit clear. I doubt I'm doing a perfect run of the whole game, but when you're that close for one level, you just have to go for it.
Edit: Aw. I don't like encoding errors on Viddler since it messes up the number counter thing on the links. Oh well. Nothing you can do about it, and it's not like I haven't deleted 10-15 videos on that channel already anyway.

Burst Man's level is usually ho-hum to me, but I really liked that playthrough this time around. It's amazing how much things can change up when you go about beating the level in a different way. That's the first time I've ever gone with the Freeze Cracker strategy. Now I wonder why I never did it in the past.
Anyway, there's not much to collect here other than a letter, although there's a lot of minor stuff like extra lives and another E-Tank. All in all, that went rather well...except for what happened to Rush in a failed take. Oops.

You want to talk about a stage that changes up how you play it when you're just trying to beat it as opposed to going through without getting hit? Here's a prime example. Cloud Man's stage has so many enemies at times that it's tough to get around all of them without taking a hit! Even the boss who I've no-hit before becomes a white knuckle affair after what was a five minute stage. I like the music, but after hearing it for a little over an hour, I was glad to get this one done!
Lots of stuff to show off here as opposed to last time. Giant bolts, Proto Man, the shop, and what happens if you don't use Freeze Cracker earlier on in the level. I also include my first unintended demise of the game. That might be the first time that 360 controller has done that to me. Oh well.

Dunno why you don't get more attention, other then subtitles being more unpopular I suppose. You're doing a pretty good job as far as I can tell!
Edit - wow, it's a perfect run, too? I didn't notice until now. This is really good man.

Thanks. I don't know how long I'll be able to keep up this attempt at a perfect playthrough, but I'm 1/3 of the way home!
For a stage that has a lot of enemies in it, Junk Man's level is pretty darn easy to get through. Had I not have spent goodness knows how long trying to get one particular item in my main run, I would have finished much sooner than I did. I finally caved in and just let Rush find it on my backup file.
There were a few annoying things about this level, but they don't even come close to comparing to the birds from Cloud Man's stage. Good thing since I have to come back later. Oh well. Next!

Oooo subtitle LP.
I always like those, wish more people would do them sometimes (soooo many LPs ruined due to horrid voices)
And these are nice quality too. AND YOU ACTUALLY USE WEAPONS IT'S A MIRACLE

If you give me weapons, then I'll probably use them. Buster run only games can be fun, but I don't think they'd make for the best of videos in this show all I know playthrough.
The Robot Museum's small, but it still has a few sights to take in. After making our boss harder than I needed to be, it's back to Junk Man's stage to get what I missed out on the first time around. The password screen also gets a closer look in this video.
I just hope I can fix my computer issues quickly. It's literally blocking me from uploading anything on my own computer right now.

I asked this in the comments over on youtube, but here seems like a better place: I noticed that there were two broken capsules in the Mash fight. Was this the game that added in what was in those two bosses in later versions (I think secret fights you could find in some stage or another), or was that MM8?

I don't know if those are Cut and Wood Man that Wily stole, but you would go on to fight them in Mega Man 8's Saturn version. If those broken chambers actually contained those two, then that would be another awesome touch to this undervalued game.
Also, I think I've already fixed what was ailing my computer. Cross your fingers. I know I am.

Turbo Man takes the pole position for most annoying stage to no-hit clear so far. It's been a long time since I've played a stage for over an hour. Okay, maybe it's not been that long, but this stage sure made me feel like it had been. Flame pillars, giant trucks, and a boss fight that can quickly come to an end were the main culprits of that.
An awesome upgrade for the Super Adapter, a second sitdown with Proto Man, Junk Shield's effectiveness and Thunder Bolt's flaw? Yeah. That's all in this video.

That stage is just plain annoying period, I so hate that jump where failing sends you down again...and again...and AGAIN. To face three also annoying enemies (the poles and Joe) again -.- . Not great level design, which MM7 seems to suffer from more often than not...padding, to call it by its name. Though I do like the game quite a lot, those things tick me off; it's also waiting for the tide in Burst Man's, the HP of Freeze's bears...
Talk about a roll of the dice. That's exactly how I felt my chances were each and every time I went through this very short stage. It's honestly a two enemy stage that wound up taking me three hours to perfect just because of the random nature of each of their attacks. Honestly, I just can not figure the pattern of those eggs...if there is one. Maybe it's an Air Man situation. I honestly don't know.
I then go back and give everyone a better look at this stage and finally rescue an old feathery friend after causing arson. It's okay though. That stage deserved it.
