  • Secured Data Segment it's important that you take things slowly. It's ok if you play a little bit at a time. Rushing can get you killed and frustrated. Oh, and relying only on the claw attack won't work here. Get used to using your techniques; it will be apparent later that you need them.
  • If you're even slightly touching a colored window, it will flash, indicating that you're safe. You don't have to be entirely inside.
  • Ignore Ometeotl, he's being stupid again.
Now, people were asking about a couple of things later in the game, so I uploaded some save backups of mine. The files should allow you to see two things:

1. A point later where you have a choice. There's a file right before that point.

2. File with game beaten, for those who want to see the endgame credits.

It's been a while since raocow last played this, but wasn't there something at the end of the last video about finally being able to get the last bracelet extension? That would prevent having to unequip the mighty Triforce bed. I also don't recall him ever getting that armor upgrade folks kept pestering him about...

Ah, thank you! (It seems the last digit just got dropped when you copied the URL.)

The song is still really neat! I'm actually pretty glad to see it's an original creation. The newgrounds audio portal is a pretty neat treasure trove, it seems, if you can find the gems buried in all the filler.

I've found some neat Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy and Mega Man tracks buried in there. Just don't bother looking for Sonic tracks, bleagh.

I posted a comment on the video raocow, but I'll state it here too - Maybe you should go grind for some money? I've never seen you do such a thing but I've never seen you play a game where the situation could come up, either. Except Psycho Waluigi, maybe.

raocow, have you asked your boss if you could bring your French keyboard to work? I don't know if that requires going into Windows' settings, or if Windows autodetects the current keyboard's language.

There's a language setting in the control panel somewhere that lets you choose your keyboard language freely. Of course, I don't know if it requires admin access to change, and even if it doesn't then the letters on the keyboard will lie! (Not a problem for touch-typers, but still)

I don't know where raocow got the idea that later DT installments don't have chain dashing.

Well, I don't know about DT3's demo, but DT2 has it. It doesn't have Mental Insurrection, but the chain dashing mechanic is still in place.

You're probably going to need all the healing items you can carry. If you need rupees, you can wait for the slimes in the first room of Shady Caves to duplicate a bajillion times and then kill all of them at the same time.

Also, once again, don't forget about your spells! The creepy-looking ones you've chosen to ignore are actually really good, and Flood saves you the frustration of having to manually kill those damn turrets in the kill room after the element switching colour wheel chamber thingamabobs.

Raobert, you have "so-not-money" because you actively ignored every single gold rupee you encountered in that video, including the ones peacefully sitting on the floor right next to you. Monies one does not lay claim to are generally not deposited in one's account, in accordance with the ancient and venerable juridical principle known as Finders, Keepers.

raocow, you really want to farm for money after you completed the three portals. I REALLY suggest doing so in tomorrow's video after finishing the third portal. ;)
Believe me, I played this game a good dozen times and know almost everything about it. Trust me!

Ok, raocow, I'm not going to spoil anything, but you are coming up on the hardest part of the game. Even the Spire, IMO, is not as tough as these last couple of areas. One room in particular is a capital T Thing which you will hate (because everybody hates it).

But get through this area and I promise you'll enjoy yourself. What comes after is totally worth it.

So here's a fun or unfun fact, depending on your disposition. The Sentries were coded before the tutorial level was made. The base AI anyway, their assist behavior was added in later.

Today's video:

The sentries can be complicated to fully understand, and they cooperate together. Other people can probably explain better, but here's a quick rundown on some of the tactics I use:

Mobile Sentry:

This one's pretty basic and not a priority, IMO. I just get in line with it and use Fireball and Wave of Awesome (normal/down).

Data Bomb Launcher:

Get in close and use Water Blast or Piercing Stream and water claw, then get out once it's defeated. Or you can use Wave of Awesome (down) from afar.

Static Sentry:

Similar to above. What I do is swoop in and use Rupture and earth claw repeatedly. Attacks used on Data Bomb Launcher also do fairly well, if they're close together.

Aerial Sentry:

This one flies and chases you so I find it the most annoying. I suggest planting Cyclone at it or smashing it with Hurricane dash if within reach; otherwise try spamming Wave of Awesome (up/front).

And Kudeku with the correct element can quickly damage them. Combining attacks can be important to finishing off enemies quickly. You can use a technique and follow it with your claw attack while the technique finishes, so don't try to rely on just the technique.

It really confounds me why raocow, when trying to get an item at the end of a platforming segment such as the Spirit Energy in today's first section, doesn't just go to the next area, save, then re-enter the area from the other side. Today in particular, it would have saved him a solid 5-10 minutes of frustration getting to those switches if he had just started from the right side every time.

Becuase then everybody and friends will be back, and shoot him from afar.
