raocow, you handle yourself well, even without the dash.
The part that's getting me so far is
the elevator room in the train level. It never fails, towards the end there's so many spikes and enemies that I can't keep track of myself or I end up accidentally dashing off the edge of the platform. I've died like 30 times there so far.
Only other place I've died this many times is the Donut Plains secret area.

Well, I have played up to exactly this part. It took me a little bit longer than an hour. So once raocow and me know where my save files are listed I can send it to raocow. We just need to get informed by Darkyoshi!

A quick update on the whole save-file thing. As it turns out, the combination of having a good grasp of the controls and skipping all the talking means that it might take a lot shorter than anticipated. In other words, after writing my last sentence I was able to get to the Diluted Mansion in the time inbetween. I do have to go to sleep since it is getting late over here but once I am able to tomorrow I will try to get the rest of the way done. In the best case expect a save-file in less than 24 hours.
edit: Dammit, beaten. Oh well, was fun just mowing down through the early part of the game.
@slit: On the whole save-file thing though, it seems that it is saved in the GameDetails file, as there is a warning about the possibility of corrupting savedata and the file in some lines mention which spells I had equipped and such. Maybe sending the GameDetails folder to raocow might do it, just make a backup of raocow's file, put yourfile into there instead of his and start the game. After the video is done he just deletes the GameDetails file and puts the backup/old file back in as if nothing happened.
Note that I have no idea if this works so it might be best to wait until ZephyrBurst responds to this. But I think this is probably how you would do that,

Thanks a lot. Yeah, I guess it might be saved in the Game Details. Now how do I send this file to raocow without corrupting it? I don't have his email adress so I cannot send him an email. And I do not know if I can send files in talkhaus PMs!

Oh, great, Slaix (it's you, right?)! I was looking forward to seeing how raocow will handle the Flame Instigator, and thanks for enabling us to watch that fight.
I hope it works out.

There are services that let you upload a file so that others can download that file, so you might use that and give raocow the link. I will admit that I never uploaded something though so I don't have any experiences on stuff like which sites are the best to use for that, if you have to pay to upload something and so on so... yeah, I am useless.
Comedy option: Copy the whole textfile, paste it into a pm and send it to raocow, let him paste that whole thing into the file (Of course after making a backup), start up the game and see what horrible monstrosities we unleash that way. This is likely the most dumb way to do this but it might just work.
edit for clarity.

Not sure if this is too late or not gonna work or whatever, but I thought I'd direct to advice about Camtasia to see if the video can be rescued.
Go on Google and type in this: camtasia video "didn't save"
(yes, with the quote marks)
So I've had a lot of peeps that jumped to the occasion to help me, and for that I say thank you! I kind of want to.. to ask y'all to keep staggered saves of different places I get too, if only something stupid like this happens, hahaha~
I managed to salvage some things out of camtasia but it's horribly desynched and misses a huge part of it. So tomorrow I'll upload -that- to approximate my first reactions, and hopefully I'll be able to record it properly for wednesday's upload.

Alright, I tested quickly, and Cirno's file/hack worked.
SO, for the future, all you crazy people - if you could keep back-up toward key elements this way, your work wouldn't be wasted! It'd be great for me just because it would remove a lot of stress from this thang.
Again, thank you, THANK YOU and hyper-thank-you everyone.

Oh wow, I missed some craziness while I was out today, but looks like everyone solved it. It is the GameDetails file. All DT looks for is that it has that name and is an ini. Making a copy won't disrupt anything. Then again, you all know that now.
Greader's comedy option would actually work.
@cc12321: Using Earth Shift was actually the idea there, well an option anyway. raocow made it look fairly easy even without dashing, so that's something. He has a really good grasp on general maneuvering, which helps a ton on... everything in DT. It always looks impressive to me when someone jumps through a gap of anything like at 8:20.

But he's raocow! He don't need no stinkin' rave mode to have a party with worms! (And not a world party either.)
Also yes, as cc said, you are now able to get all items in all past areas. (I don't think it's deserving of a spoiler to be honest) Some of them are pretty hellish though, so you might want to hold back for now!

Has raocow used "rave mode" even once since the tutorial? I'm not sure if I just don't know how to recognize it, but as best as I can tell he's just ignored that feature.
Which is pretty much what I'd do in this game, I expect. I tend to pretend "temporary boost"-type bonuses don't exist, unless it's designed to show up at specific times. Since each individual section was made to be beatable without "rave mode", I would feel like I shouldn't use it, or I'll never get good enough at the game to beat the REALLY hard stuff.

I just use it in areas with lots of enemies but otherwise don't have much special features, so that I can more easily rack up experience and Internets.

I want this as a bonus episode, with small "mistakes" added to the file (if there is a way to make "mistakes" that create data legible as a savegame). I guess you can't hope for Null Driver-ish graphics glitches that turn fireballs into muffins, but oh well.

Thinking about it, the file seems to just consist of event-flags. If you look into it, a lot of lines end in either a 0 or a 1. PRobably most flags start out at zero0 and once you get to a new area, you unlock an ability or just did some plot-stuff one of these zero's turns into a one, signaling the game that the player managed to do something.
IF someone were to say, change a few zeros to ones and some ones to zeros without knowing what each flag exactly do the result would be pretty unpredictable. Of course this can lead to heavy spoilers so this should be done after the game is over.
You could also change the currently equipped spells to spells you couldn't possibly have at that point and do other kinds of shenanigans with the levels. Of course doing such stuff mightjust lead to a crash once the game notices that things are kind of screwy. All in all it wouldn't lead to MIssingno-style bugs and such but it could be interesting.

Flame Instigator there is the boss I had the hardest time with in the game, and I have a few things to say about him which may or may not be spoilers at this point, I don't know since raocow's video got sucked into a distortion, so I'll spoiler it anyway:
He teaches a very hard lesson about having to play defensively and using the right tools for the job, especially if you haven't specced for water/earth/spirit preservation and recovery in your skill tree. Water barrier literally completely shuts him down aside from his dash attack if you can keep it going, and same for earth shift if placed right. I'd say it's arguably easier and faster to run back to town, spec water/earth with the fire resistance perks, and try again that way.
He's basically the "wake-up call boss" of the game for people who use a certain website. They only get harder from here on out, but you'll have plenty more tools to work with after this, namely air dash.
Also, if you might not have guessed, the Fire Resistance and Spirit Defense beads are a great investment against him.
Either way, I guess today is just a day for raocow to have huge problems with bosses.
The file select screen background, The Metroid door switches, the OH SNAP item, The Darkness/mini version in Old Castle, Icons for the food items from inventory, Character that turned into the Torso boss, Wisps and Area graphics In Distortion area, Portals
That was definitely a video. I having it end prior to the Air Dash and other surprise at the end of dusty ruins is a good thing I guess, to keep it as a surprise for those watching the game blind.
Rave mode I find is only really useful in kill room traps. Although I hope raocow uses it enough in the LP to get the second bonus graphic for it, as I always laughed when he appeared.

Trust me, you don't wanna know what a 'latch crystal' is.
Is the 'big boss' theme (the epic guitar thing played e. g. in the Flame Instigator fight, not the OMG HUEG DISTORTED DISTORTION MNOSTER!111! one) a remix of or related to 'Faith is for the Transient People'? It sounds a bit like it, and I know OCRemixes are often fundamentally different from the originals and stuff, so it could be one...

By the way, just because the enemy (like Flame Instigator) is crippled by an ability, like Water Blast, doesn't mean you have to keep using it.
The crippling ability isn't always the weakness. Instead, once the enemy is crippled, its overall defense is lowered. Then you can switch to a more effective attack until crippling wears off.
