Ayup, forgot to mention it.

When I saw first that the level had a secret exit (and the route to the right was covered by level 1's), I wondered "gee, where's it gonna lead?".

Well, I got my answer. Shortest connection between two points: A line. Let this be staying as criticism. The map for this world feels cluttered anyway - it could have been expaned a bit, I think.

To all the drama in this thread: Just shut up and watch a great LP of a great game.

And there really needs to be a master list of all the music in this game because.. well, I think that's pretty clear by now at least for me.

Heh, it sure had me confused. I thought for SURE that the star was the secret exit.
I lol'd hard when raocow showed the real secret exit, though.

i didn't laugh as much as i said "freakin raocow what the hell now i have to go back to this level". Or something along those lines.

I just played up to this one castle, I think world 4 or something (not sure if it was in a foretress or what though).. and I'm anxious to see raocow's try at it.

It made me go back to savestates within a matter of minutes. Either I was missing something completely or it wanted me dead. Then again though I'm probably just not too good at swimming since that was the hellish part.

I'm gonna kind of compare and contrast skill with his video I guess.

Yeah, castle 4 has quite a difficulty spike. And that trend continues with every end of the world level, especially in the last 3 worlds.
To be fair, the difficulty mostly comes from those levels being way longer then the rest of the levels, but still only having one midpoint (or in the case of the final level, none; was it meant like that cypher?).
So I guess it would be way too much of a time sink to beat it toolless for raocow, even though the actual platforming isn't that hard.

That being said, this was an awesome hack and I'd be pretty disappointed if cypher doesn't do a third one.

So why were the Thwomp graphics different in the two paths?

Do the Wario ones really have a changed AI, and would it affect level design if those were implemented in the roto-ball path?

The placement of that pipe on the map above today's fortress makes me question if it had a secret exit but I saw nothing to would suggest one.

Ho, raocow, what happened to your voice at the end of todays video?
Did (whatever video editor you might be using) get confused with all the chipmunking or what?

I think he slowed down intentionally.

It sounded quite awesome.

Well, I was going to be all "argh raocow you could have farmed lives by timing out on the green switch palace and just getting all the coi-"

Then walrus time happened.

I guess now that Runman's over, the tranwrecking needed to go somewhere else?

I laughed for like five minutes at the end there. Maybe it's because I happened to notice the comment about it being a total accident before watching the video, but man. It was like Black Plague, only for me instead of raocow.

Oh well.

I guess not only the thwomp boss from the first game came back to haunt you, but also the slowdown.

...forgot to mention that the thwimpmoticons were awesome.

Aw man! I missed drama time. Just caught up on watching- The MKM series isn't really my thing, but man, the music choices in the second one are fricking awesome so far! The giant-sun-in-background-raining-fire-from-skies-oh-god-run part- I totally know that music! Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga. Battle theme for the recurring villain Popple.

Such an obscure and awesome music choice. :D

I am really disappointed in myself - I couldn't put my finger on what the music was.

I have to agree here too. Walrus time was pretty rad.

The next fortress you come across has a secret exit as well.

But I haven't found anything in the fortress after that so it is kinda confusing.

I appologize in advance that the december 24th episode is going to be a save-scrubbing 'screw this noise' type of video.

It's crazy in fact. I don't mind redoing things normally, but as soon as I put down ONE 'checkpoint' somewhere it lets off this crazy slippery slope kind of effect. I don't know why I can't be at anything but extremes.

EDIT

Scratch that, later I'll find some time today to replay that section. Man, for the christmas eve video, I'd rather you guys have a not blind but good and fun video, then a blind but really bad, unfun one.
