No dissing the nuclear waffles! If it has the word "nuclear" in it, it is awesome by default! Gee, didn't pop culture teach you anything?

On that note, that was the best representation of the fourteenth century ever. And by "best" I mean "what the hell kind of shows was that man watching to get the idea that it would look ike that?"

On that note, the time travel sections are somewhat... Uninspired. The level design is okay(the fact that you're expected to use savestates aside), but I feel the author just didn't make the most of the possible imagery.

Also those submaps look boring as hell. "Hey look, it's a time machine! You can tell that by the fact that it's all black with some question marks! And now you're in the future, so have some GREY! Because grey is good! Also a flying lime. AN NOW YOU'RE IN A CASTLE YOU CAN TELL BY THE FACT THAT IT'S ALSO GREY BECAUSE GREY IS GREAT I SURE DO LOVE MY GREY GREY GREY oh man that word sounds silly when repeated this often."

I think part of the reason that random humor sucks these days is as such:

1. It's not usually that random. Most of the time, it's "muffins" this or "waffles" that or "cookies" whatever. Always the desserts. Or, in the case of Youtube Poop, too many people make the same old tired jokes over and over (MY BOY MY BOY MY BOY MY BOY).

2. The Internet makes Sturgeon's Law (search that on TVTropes if you don't know what that is) actually visible to everyone, since anyone can publish anything no matter how unfunny it is. However, giving everyone the opportunity to share what they've made does give the underrated stuff a chance to do well. I'll admit that.

Very few good examples of non-sequitur humor exist these days, although I think raocow counts as a good example.

That was so weird watching the chipmunked boss segment. raocow's voice was chipmunked but everything else was normal speed. Stupid slowdown.

Did he swear?

Also, to raocow: "Stream of consciousness" is not always random. The problem is people TRYING to be random. Which it isn't, because they thought of it. It's arbitrary.

What is your source on this? The first Renaissance Humanist is considered to be Petrarch, born at the start of the fourteenth century, and the first Renaissance artist would probably be Giotto (died 1337). Indeed, there is Petrarch's poem 'Africa' (1336), where he writes about the grandsons of his contemporaries being able to 'walk out of this slumber of forgetfulness into the radiance of the past'. Note the implications of the concept of the Dark Ages, and the emergent rebirth. There is also a time-scale implied (children's children) which ties in with Vasari's three 'ages' of Renaissance art, beginning with Giotto, through Donatello and others, culminating with Michelangelo.

Yep. When people TRY to be random it fails, 95% of the time, because they'll just starting saying stupid words like, 'Pie', 'Cheese', etc.
Moltov, imo, is that 5% that TRYS to be random, and it works.

Not always. One video out of two it's like I'm ashamed of watching his video. But the other one out of two is pretty rad and worth the gamble!

Moltov really is a hit and miss. If he would scream less it would all be a lot better already.
But he got my respect for beating vip 4 savestateless.

I don't know... i find his screaming to be pretty hilarious sometimes. Probably because I'm 14 and like that kind of thing.

Though going back and watching his old LPs which he didn't scream at all in... those were pretty great.

It's usually the usual suspects; monkeys, muffins, cookies, waffles, cheese, pie, bananas, etc.

Why, though? Because of memes. Everything and anything remotely annoying is because of them.

Banana Phone?
The Annoying Frog guy?

Everyone finds it funny and starts to try to "add" to the humor.

EDIT: Oh, by the way BANANA PIE JUICE PURPLE MONKEY ICE CREAM SIMPSONS REFERENCE 30 ROCK REFERENCE FAMILY GUY REFERENCE HUR HURRRR THE INTERWEBS BLOGOSHPEHE THE INTERNET IS A SERIES OF TUBES HAHAHAHAHA I'M SO DAMN FUNNY HUR HUR HUR WUT

P.S.: I like 30 Rock, it's just that too many people copy it!

Pseudological Segue Humor beats Memetic Nonrandom Humor any day!

And I gotta say, one of the best examples of Pseudological Segue Humor is you, raocow. Even when you talk about ham, cause at least it's used as part of a sentence. And nobody ever says ham anyway. But each thing you say is actually related to the game, or at least the last thing you were saying, or subliminal brain processes.

One that stands out- at the start of Omega, something along the lines of "...and I'm not going back to the clock tower, because of Medusa." It SOUNDS random, but.. actually it sounded like a perfectly logical end to the words. It made sense, somehow.

Well chompie i think the somehow is probably because of castlevania. (oh hey beaten to it)

I look at it a slightly different way. Whilst raocow does start out saying something which appears to make no sense whatsoever, he'll take that, continue talking, and build on it. In that sense i see it as sequiter rather than non-sequiter humour. Each time he builds on it it becomes funnier, like in those great moments with friends where you can keep a throwaway joke going without it getting stale, until it becomes this hugely preposterous and hilarious farce that is only made funnier by the fact that no one around you has any idea what you're on about.

I don't usually appreciate random humour, but it's because of raocow's ability to take it out of the random, to give something ridiculous a context to the point that it almost makes actual sense, that i find his commentary so funny.

Heh... Signpost of Death.

The climbing the tower level was pretty neat, and didn't have as much slowdown as most levels. The ending was rather abrupt, though.

...not to mention the infinite lives.
