Dear raocow,
Please use your ship to refuel. PLEASE. I'd rather not hear the 'low on energy' noise for another 10 minutes.
Sincerely, me.

Yeah, agreeing with the above: please make life easy on yourself. Refuel off-camera at the ship/generators/wherever. Learn/practise basic stuff (horizontal/diagonal shinespark today might have helped maybe?). Think about using a map.

My guess is that you somehow had your mind set to "oh man it's gonna be a trainwreck!" (I think "all abourd the trainwreck station! choo choo!" says it for itself) and therefore, unconsciously, made it no fun for yourself.

This. I think I literally said "oh no" when I saw that you were doing Metroid Legacy again, but in all honesty, it wasn't so bad.

Although I personally have to agree with the Japanese in not being too fond of the Metroid and Legend of Zelda series in general. I very much dislike having to "treasure hunt" in games. Sure, Mario has side rooms and secret exits, but side rooms are for simple, temporary bonuses, and most secret exits aren't too difficult to find (except for the first time they pulled the "fly over the goal/run under the goal" nonsense, or worse, the time-based secret exit).

Hey raocow since you went through that one-way super missile door I guess you can't backtrack back to Maridia the way you left. Whoops?

Yeah, uh, as long as you're opening spoilers back up, you need to go back into Maridia where you came from, and go through the door at the end that you DIDN'T go through because there's a necessary thing down that path. >_>

I was surprised to see you continuing it and even more surprised to see you enjoying it after we left off on such a bad note. Seems lie everything's going well for now, I'll be watching faithfully.

Yeah guys, don't worry, tomorrow's video is recorded, and though I found out it's a one way thing, the path back to maridia is really not far at all.

Well, I hate to be a party pooper, but I am somewhat disappointed that you're going to continue this... I'm just not a metroid fan.

Oh well. I'll still being watching the LP regardless.

So does this mean that after the chocolate level contest, you're going to do one more level of MariAri?

To post something slightly more on topic, why in the hell did game designers decide that there should be an annoying low health sound effect that you can't disable? It breaks immersion by drawing your attention to a gameplay mechanic, it wrecks the music, and 90% of the time, you have no quick means of filling your health back up.

Good times! ^^

I remember on Super metroid redesign: You hear it all the game long because the game is so hard. :D

I didn't hear it too often in Redesign.

Now Eris, that made me sick of it.

The keyboard's divided into areas. So while you can't press, say, X, C, and D at the same time you can press Ctrl, Alt and Del. Map to the arrow keys, shift and ctrl and use both sides of the keyboard and you should be fine.

Did i hear raocow say today that people call this hack "an equivalent to a kaizo metroid"?

Are they really saying this? This hack is hardly more difficult than the original super metroid, and definitely not kaizo-like...

they mean it in terms of hacking 'quality' rather then difficulty, though kaizo is actually pretty well designed.

A few things that may interest anyone who's interested:

Good call raocow, those things were in fact mochtroids not metroids. They're supposed to be beta radiation irradiated metroids that went wrong or the space pirate's attempts to create their own metroids, i forget which.

The weird balloon enemies that get in your way when you're trying to grapple have a use (/obvious hint).

The boss is called Draygon and yields an item that i think you will be very happy with.

There is a secret alternate way to defeat the boss using a special item !! ! Can you figure it out?

I guess that's all i had, whoops. Really enjoying this return though, and glad to see you enjoying it a lot more this time.

Sweet! The Legacy is back!
Flameofdoubt is right. There are two ways to defeat the next boss. The hard way and the easier way.
Really annoying boss IMO.

If I hadn't already finished the hack I'd be going back to it now too...
Oh well...

Really looking forward to tomorrows vid raocow! OK, well I suppose that's no different than
any other day... :D

Knowing raocow (and not knowing a thing about the boss), he probably started to use the special item, but wasn't aiming right, so he switched to the hard way of beating the boss and ended up glitching the final hit beyond all recognition to make a third way to defeat the boss. He'll need to hard reset the game to resume playing.

Do you mean to kill the boss? If so you just have to missile and charge beam the heck out of it till it falls over (which can be hard if you're not as prepared as the game wants you to be), or you have to use sneaky tactics to electrocute it, which is all the clues you're getting!...for now!

From what it sounds like, tomorrow's video is entirely made up of you having a hard and unsuccessful time fighting Draygon. If you get tired of the hard method, which I know I hate using, here's the easy method in spoilers:
Shoot all the electrical thingies on the sides with missiles so all they show is electricity. Then, let Draygon grab you, and line up your grapple beam so that it will attach to the electricity left by the thingies while she's holding you. The electricity will flow through you and into Draygon, giving you about 50 damage in the process but will instantly kill Draygon as long as you hold the button down until it's dead.
