I kind of agree that it's really annoying not be able to follow my own thread.
Though hey, obviously I understood how Tewi works in the second video! I saw so myself, in parts! D: I'm not that dumb! Eventually!

Yeah, you have a pretty awesome approach to these kind of games. OC is also taking all the challenges head on and for the most part, you both seem to be enjoying things. I guess I'm not really talking to anyone. I think I'm more reacting to the backlash of a small minority in the thread/comments + past complaints/discussions on difficult games you LP.
It has a powerful effect. LPs. The way you react to certain things in your videos has enormous sway on your viewers. It's the last few minutes of today's episode that make it a fun LP, for the same reason hard games are fun to play, but I won't be shy to admit that PPR does wonders getting everybody there sometimes.

This actually happened in raocow's video.
Unforgiving is when you need to restart because the boss gets stuck someplace because YOU put her there.
Being able to create an unwinnable situation in a puzzle game is fair enough. But this boss fight could have been set up so that there were no unwinnable positions.
On another note, fun translator trivia. The Earthkeeper suit is actually called a Jizo suit or a Kshitigarbha suit, which is the name of the Bodhisattva the statue references. You often find them near shrines and temples, where Tanuki like to play tricks and they'll take the shape of the statues to blend in. Unfortunately "Kshitigarbha Nitori" doesn't hold much meaning to most of the western world so vgboy suggested "Earthkeeper" which is derived from the kanji, and ultimately what we went with.
Interesting. But why didn't you just call it the "Tanuki suit"?

Well, because it's not a tanuki suit. The tanuki part of the tanuki suit is the raccoon get up Mario wears. Tanuki do have the ability to change shape though, and that's where the Jizou statue comes from. But since there's not really anything else tanuki about it, Desunoya called it the 地蔵 suit, or Jizou suit. Translating that as "Tanuki Suit" would be a mistranslation. Earthkeeper is still 'correct' and sounds better than Jizou to anyone who doesn't know who he is.

The boss is complex but not necessarily badly done.
It is very badly done. It outright astounds me that someone could code and test this boss and then honestly say "Now that's a good/fun boss!". I mean, come on, that was just bad.

UFO Hunting
Alright, I've got 14/15 (I'm assuming there's only 15 according to a sign)
Now....yes, I know where the last UFO is. My question is, where the hell do I get the key to unlock the door to get it? I'm gonna assume it's in the very top right of the Utsuho fight, because there's pretty much the only part of the game I haven't combed with the Jetpack. A simple yes/no and or slight hint (like say, what world it's in) will help.
Thanks.
Edit: I wonder if there's achievements for beating Danmaku Utsuho without getting hurt/shooting all the credits? Something for me to check out later I guess.
EDIT:
....Not sure if this is the intended solution, but there you go.

It doesn't look that bad for what it is, and what it is, is a puzzle boss. Really it's not even a boss. It's just another puzzle. Zelda games have puzzle bosses where it feels like you're actually fighting. Nitori doesn't so much fight as she runs away until the terrain takes out her opponent.
Even though I would never play this game I can say just by watching that the bunny girl SEEMED reasonable enough, except for the couple spots where you could screw yourself and have to start all over.

All of you saying "bad boss," have you actually played the game or are you just inferring from raocow's bad day videos? The boss puzzle can be confusing at first, but I know how Chewy moves and attacks, and once I understand what to do, it's quite reproducible. You just break the procedure in steps.
The boss gets really frustrating when she goes berserk. Because of her speed, she glitches more often and is more dangerous, even when you come back with the 6th item.
Also, regarding world 1 UFO:
If you use the drill right when a flying doll hits you from below, you get a massive upward boost. That's how I got the UFO and the achievement. You should get enough energy before you take on the challenge.

I daren't venture anywhere near the land of YouTube Comments on this one for fear of the massive amounts of ignorant anger directed this fight's way, so I'll just poke my head in here and point out those orbs are Tewi's EX Attack from PoFV, and they were just as annoying in that game, if not more so. <_<

How exactly is she a bad boss? raocow just had issues with it. I figured the boss out relatively quickly, honestly.
It has nothing to do with his ability to deal with it. I can tell with myself by the mechanics of the fight. It's just not fun, at all. It's glitchy, it can force you to reload your save, etc.

The Tewi fight was frustrating to watch not because she's a particularly bad boss but because the whole thing is honestly like a really bad escort mission. Of course I can't think of any GOOD escort missions, but I think it's an apt comparison.

Etc? No, go on. Finish that thought, anything else you have to say about it? If you're hating on the boss, lay down all the hate, don't stop short!

raocow does blind run LPs. When he runs into a problem like this, it shows that the puzzle wasn't very intuitive to someone on their first run of this game. Anyone less skilled than raocow would look at the video and think, "Well, if he's struggling, I'd be doing even worse".
If the game designer's intended audience is people of all skills, they need to take these kind of things into consideration.

Anyone less skilled but not having a bad day would've realized there are three options, and perhaps picked the one that lets you skip the boss.
The game's not meant for people that don't like puzzles and back-and-forth exploration thinking anyway. You play it, you know what you're up against.

It still amazes me people said this was a Metroidvania (yes, people who had been playing it). You have a whip or a gun or whatever and you can actually harm your enemies - this is box number one and you've got to be able to tick it.

By the time you get the powerup, you need to already have the red maze in a position that will allow you to return.

If it's not meant for everybody, then there's no problem.
Regarding the level today: Can you put bombs down on the Mario 3 arrow platforms? I'd guess not, but raocow didn't try.

Also, is Aya talking in the World 3 signs? I noticed one at the end of the video talked about a "hot scoop" or whatever
