Google takes down videos on Google Video (Backup Project)

Today I got an email from Google and it says that they will take down all the videos from google video.
Until May 13 the uplaoder can download his videos.
It also said something about moving them to YT, but these videos have the music in them...

Or do you already know that? I thought it can't hurt to post that here.

Fortunately all my meaningful stuff is on raoclassic, however we might want to update the archive on everything to link to the youtube raoclassic videos instead.

It is backed up every now-and-then, but it's just a giant database and doesn't host any videos itself. We don't self-host for bandwidth reasons.

Someone remind me after GV goes down and I'll switch all the links on those videos to raoclassic (or whereever, just let me know where they're being hosted now).

At least this time we have warning unlike what happened with vimeo/viddler/gamevee.

You consider Super Mario Infinity + the beginning portion of Super Mario Infinity 2 to be your only "meaningful" Google Video LPs?

Aside from like two Commander Keen 4 videos, that's the only Google stuff to have been put up on raoclassic so far.

Super Challenge World is already mirrored at the lparchive, although the video quality of the mirror doesn't match the version you can stream from google video. I am genuinely sad that future generations of internet nerds might miss out on the google video era.

Yes, I'm aware that all of CK has been uploaded. I was talking about two specific videos for CK4 that raocow put up on Google Video after Viddler/GameVee deleted them, which have both since been put up on raoclassic along with all the others.

TSRPR has been put up on raoclassic. TSRP and TSRP2 haven't yet, since the guy has been more focused on Dailymotion-era stuff.

There we go. If Raoclassic wants to eventually take these videos to his channel, I'm for it. In the meantime, I'll get the first 25 videos or so up of TSRP1 since I've got the time today. Not sure what I'll do when the time limit becomes an issue later on though!

Archive Team (volunteer project, that backups dying major websites) is also backing up all videos of Google Video. They will host the videos on Archive.org

And if they get all the GV videos backed up, there will surely be raocow videos too.
