Copy Kitty HARD - Now With 100% Less World
Re: Copy Kitty HARD - Half a typhoon is still a typhoon
One advantage of switching to Savant first is seeing all the enemies in an area that drop Tornado and looking forward to all the fun Boki is going to have the next day.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - Nuclear Strawberry Game Slime
Just finished Hard Mode with both characters myself, and all I'm going to say is, there's some very fun stuff to look forward to. Haven't done Hard Mode Extra World yet, though.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - always more explosions
So a thing about how you're changing this up: Boki and Savant's final chapters diverge very significantly. Without giving away any details, I feel like it would work best to do Savant's entire final chapter and then Boki's.
The alternation you're doing now should be fine for this chapter, but I don't think it would work as well in the next one.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - always more explosions
100% this. I would have probably posted a youtube comment for this if I hadn't checked here first which would've said something like "I cannot explain why but I don't like the way you are doing this"Dragon Fogel wrote: ↑1 year ago So a thing about how you're changing this up: Boki and Savant's final chapters diverge very significantly. Edit: Rao left a comment like 10 minutes later, saying it's for world 11, only.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - Oh Yoggval... Maybe It's Best We Part
I had similar problems dealing with Curse. What I ended up doing for the last stage here was just memorizing the inputs from the required curse to the button, which is a relatively safe place to wait it out. Still took me several tries, although that might have just been for Boki.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - after a Yoggval and a Yoggval, let's have a Yoggval
This fight really drives home how the Yoggvals manage to feel distinct even though they're just using variants of the same core attacks. It's basically a test of how well you can switch up your strategy based on which one pops up next. I remember having a pretty tough time with it, but it's satisfying to get through.

I was very much looking forward to your reaction to this world. Your disappointment when Savant quit Melon Dog made the joke there even sillier.
And the game definitely isn't done with the surprises.

I'm not going in order anymore, I just pick whatever makes for a fun title now.
And I'd be really surprised if something happens in one of those videos to make "Not that kind of trans rights" an appropriate title.

we cannot think of a mathematically poorer-aging series than gaming garbage, which stinks because the yoyogames sandbox was/is objectively hilarious

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - hey Savant, look at all this lua I added to the levels
In a previous version of the game, (before it went on Steam) an automatic level was the reward for finishing the last level on Hard Mode with Savant. I don't remember if it used similar mechanisms to this one, or if they're completely different. About all I remember is that Savant was actually visible in the older level.
I got beaten in the sheep level, too. I think I had a similar reaction to raocow.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - Lymia EX is the protagonist
Just for the record, the checkpointing is weird in the original Lymia fight too. If you get to the electromagnet phase and die, you restart there but Lymia damages you. I think that may require multiple deaths on that phase, too, but I'm not sure.
My best guess for why the checkpointing works this way is, they wanted to do the gag about not keeping your power, but then they concluded it needed an actual checkpoint. So you get the gag, and then the next time you advance that far, you get it for real.
Overall, while this is chaotic, I think it's easier than the damage star on the original fight. Although, going for that is helpful practice for this one.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - With input from Isotope
I'm glad nobody spoiled this for raocow, it really was a great moment.
In my case, I got to feel an extra bit of satisfaction when I encountered this fight. A few years back, I had popped into the Copy Kitty chatroom and there was some conversation on what it was building towards. I mentioned that all the lore pointed to an actual fight with a Cyber as the natural progression of Boki's story.
And here's that fight. I don't know if my comments were the direct reason for this, or if it was something the designers already had in mind at the time and were being understandably secretive about, or maybe they thought of it later when my comments were a distant memory. But whatever the chain of causation, the end result was that I got to be surprised to see an idea I had implemented into the game, and it worked really well.
As far as the Lost Levels go, you've been through enough versions of this game that you'll recognize most of them. But I don't think it would be at all bad to indulge that nostalgia.

Re: Copy Kitty HARD - With input from Isotope
It should be noted that if you can beat Isotope without dying the dialoge changes at the end and everyone makes fun of her. But for lore reasons losing a couple times is intended and that's why they're more genorous with the hearts after a few deaths.
