Re: ラクガキ (Rakugaki) Mario - The box is from a 'masa'
This video has a couple of fun levels because it is basically two puzzle levels. The addition of the Mario 2 masks was a nice surprise and a good dodge obstacle for the end ice block run in the secret exit.

Re: ラクガキ (Rakugaki) Mario - pleasant trot
For the secret exit in TICKTOCK PLANT, you don't even need the red shell to get to the key. You can sequence break that part with fireballs and some well-timed on/off switch hits:
Forest of Looming Terror was very Gaiden-esque. It was ambushy, had an abundance of Piranha Plants (especially the red-stemmed variety), and felt a bit mean-spirited, too. This level must have been designed by someone who was involved with that hack.
I resorted to using a cape to help me beat the second half, but it still isn't free. It makes that insidious two-tile high jump with the springboard easier, and you can just cape-thwack the enemies in the narrow hallways. I also used the cape to skip the sequence of three exploding blocks. I understood that you needed to fall faster by repressing and letting go of the jump button every time you bounced off the Goombas, but I couldn't get consistent at it. The pit is too large to just float over with a cape, but fortunately there's enough of a runway to gain P-speed and fly over it.

Re: ラクガキ (Rakugaki) Mario - pleasant trot
Forest of Looming Terror is an excellent, well balanced level. I don't really think the Goomba Bounces are too hard compared to the rest (I personally find dodging enemies in tight spaces more difficult than this kind of platforming..)
People in youtube comments saying that this level wasn't properly tested pisses me off, when clearly every jump is calculated to work exactly as intended, and all the obstacles are very learnable to get consistently. I think it's general negativity taking over which cannot be reverted easily...

Far be it from me to defend genocidal fascists but I fucking hate this kind of cutesy doomposting because everyone on twitter vomited out the exact same thing and it made me want to kill myself. I only look at gay porn now

Oh, THAT person. Not gonna lie, whenever I see their comments, my eyes glaze over instantly. Heck, even reading through that screenshot took a few attempts. XD
Re: ラクガキ (Rakugaki) Mario - pleasant trot
politics in of itself is a shitshow full of both sides throwing accusations across like dung. A lot of them are trolls trying to get mileage out of people since anger and general negativity is ironically more attractive than positivity. (by attractive, I mean literally you noticing their comments)
Though sometimes it's hilarious, like some of these people genuinely don't even know what some of those terms mean because all they care about is saying something bad for the sake of it to get attention. Currently happening with a lot of modern movies these days.

Re: ラクガキ (Rakugaki) Mario - pleasant trot
I'm just really mad about people doomposting over the world going to shit than preserving their mental health. I legit used to do that and I blame it as part of the reason I have wild mood swings, swerving from mania to dysphoria at random now. People are actively choosing to hurt themselves for the purpose of spreading the message and being an activist and it makes me kind of mad because I hate seeing people suffering.Daizo wrote: ↑1 year ago politics in of itself is a shitshow full of both sides throwing accusations across like dung. I'm not saying that you should outright ignore the plight of humanity, but people who do shit like "so x is happening and None Of You Are Talking About It?????" on twitter need to be executed, that shit feeds into these emotional self-harm urges of just being neck deep into Literal Displays Of Human Rights Violations at all times. Personally I'm a left wing anti-fascist but I stay far away from most politics because a lot of it is poison for the brain.
Anyway I was trying not to post here because I was worried about giving Heraga and this thread some space but man,

To answer the question:
- The Troposphere is where those bright fluffy clouds form and remain, but it's also the closest region of the atmosphere to the earth. The exacts vary from source to source, but this one here shows it stretching from sea level to about 10 miles up. If you don't trust Nasa about your planetary physics, then you do you, but let's go with that for now. Is this the sky?
- The stratosphere, according to this image, stretches from 10 miles to 31 miles above the earth's sea level. The air is incredibly thin, but it houses the ozone layer, so if we're thinking about safe portions of the atmosphere, going into that or beyond, where the sun's radiation is stronger, is probably a bad idea. So beneath the ozone layer and above the clouds is probably the highest you can go and still be within Earth's safe zone. But no mountains reach this high. The entirety of the earth's surface is in the Troposphere, beneath this layer. Is this the sky?
- The Mesosphere is a complicated spot, reaching between 31-53 miles above sea level. This is where meteor showers become the big bright burning chunks of rocks we know and love to not be hit by. The reason they burn up here is because the air suddenly becomes much thicker than the outer layers - though it's still pretty much un-livably thin. If you wanna be up here, you need more than whatever device you're taking to reach this height, you'll need something to give you the air to breathe. Funny thing by the way; If your definition of "cloud" includes literal clusters of ice, then you can find "noctilucent clouds" over the poles in summer in this region of the atmosphere. Fun! Does that make this place the sky?
- The Thermosphere is the zone between 53-375 miles from sea level, and it's hot! The sun's radiation splits all those molecules and releases a ton of heat - Temperatures can reach 4,500 degrees Fahrenheit! ... But you'll still be freezing cold out here because there's not enough matter here to transfer that heat to you. It's for that same reason that sound fails to travel very well here - If there's not much matter, there's not much collision, not much transmission of energy. Interesting, right? This is also where auroras form. Is this the sky?
- The Exosphere isn't shown on this diagram, but Nasa tells us that it extends for 6,200 miles! So if we slap that on there, this stretches 6,575 miles above sea level! ... There's really not a lot out here though. There's very limited amounts of hydrogen and helium, very thinly spread out up here. You're also the only thing eating that radiation up here so um. Good luck with that. Is this the sky?
- Beyond that, there's no more atmosphere. You're in space now! YAY!! But what does that mean? ... Is this the sky?
... Well, if you chose ANY of those, correct! According to the cambridge dictionary, the sky is defined as "the area above the earth, in which clouds, the sun, etc. can be seen". By definition, the sun is in the sky, but the clouds are too. The clouds are in the lowest area of the earths atmosphere, but the sun isn't in our atmosphere at all. Everything, when you look up, from an arbitrary point defined by the clouds, is the sky. With there being mountains that are high enough to be at cloud level, you can be in the sky beside a mountain.
Let's take this image from Nasa for a moment. Spoiler tags to save space:raocow https://youtu.be/9wTPbtlXsEQ?t=195 wrote:If you're beside a mountain, are you in the sky?

This is incredibly funny and I worry the same thing might happen to AAT, but I'm willing to also bullshit some kuso switch palaces at the end.
The pipe changing color bug also appeared in Alpine Ascent, is it a quirk of LM1.60 or whatever?
also people calling roy "morton"... please stop confusing my boyfriends
EDIT: Also something I noticed, the Green Boys can help track your position due to it bouncing harder depending on how close you are to the edge. Sadly, raocow seems to not have noticed that?

I think the level itself is more easier than some of the previous levels from w3, not sure if it was to compensate for the camera or something. I also can see why the motion warning, specially in half 2.
btw, love the theme for this level, is oddly relaxing to me.

Wow, that reaction to "maze of galious" hahaha
But yeah, I can understand that level's motion causing issues. Neat idea, good challenge potential, it's just that it comes with an unfortunate side effect.

After last video, Cameraman Lakitu needed a stiff drink from trying to follow mario while he was invisible. Unfortunately, he went a bit overboard and had a rough day today, so we had to get someone to fill in. Fishin' fish guy has a cloud and a fishing rod too, so we decided to give him a shot! ... It's just a shame about that whole ethereal body thing, it's hard to keep your grip on that stuff when, like, it is determined to dispute your material presence.

That's pretty funny, since so far, this is the most VIP feeling level in the hack in my opinion,
the level just screams VIP!
Uh...Do I just sign here? What do you mean it should be obvious? There are people in this world...well...a whole lot of people that can't follow basic instructions!
