Re: FURIER - The Hand's glowing shield will block all attacks.
I like how the Furier run gives us a chance to reinterpret everything with the context of knowing who the Stranger is. Like how the Scale's arena appears to be the impact zone where the Stranger landed, with the corrupted land excavated and incorporated it into the prison (and of course the Scale's ranting makes a lot more sense).
The kid gives a nice contrast between the Hand and the Architect. The Architect's contempt for the Hand bringing his child with him into the prison makes a lot of sense because the Architect's driving motivation to leave is to see his own child again. The Hand bypasses that issue by passing off the Architect's sacrifice (not seeing his family) onto his child (being trapped in the prison), which ticks the Architect off. But on the other hand, the Architect putting his child's welfare ahead of his own led to him going rogue and endangering the entire world while the Hand at least stayed sane, so the game is kind of ambivalent on which is morally better or worse.

I imagine the kid would eventually leave as well. It is weird how we never get any closure on that, though.

the song should have demanded to speak to the stranger's manager

Re: FURIER - The Song speaks to The Stranger with kindness and compassion.
I love how during the whole time The Song's speaking to him, The Stranger has this look of "are you fucking serious" on his face. He always kinda looks like that, but he seems particularly annoyed there.
Also, I don't think "use the charge dash through thick laser walls" was ever supposed to be this much of a puzzle.

I kept thinking, during that last phase of the song, what if you simply very much damaged all four pillars, and then were able to just quickly move around the room only shooting each one a couple times to destroy them all, thus most of the dodging is during the easy no pillars destroyed bit.
Though that wouldn't work out if they slowly healed the damage back.

Re: FURIER - Burst Damage.
The Furier run does make me appreciate how, while everyone else keeps harping on an on about the stakes of letting The Stranger go, The Burst is just here being a gamer.
Re: FURIER - Burst Damage.
Hey raocow, someone in the youtube comments mentioned that there is actually a practice mode where you can focus on a single phase. That's a big point in the game's favor for sure, but it would be nice if they showed that was an option more clearly.
Re: FURIER - Burst Damage.
My theory for how the last phase is meant to go, as someone who has not played this game:
I'm sure you'll get it if you keep trying! It looks tricky but any good danmaku-esque pattern has a trick to it.

Re: FURIER - Burst Damage.
It's interesting that the Architect seems to relate most to the Burst since she also seems the most unlike him in some ways. There are certainly similarities—both are willing to embrace chaos, value cunning and personal goals over chivalry and duty, and maintain logical demeanors despite potentially slipping sanity—but the Burst is also one of the few (and possibly only) guardians who seems to actually want to be here just to be here (as opposed to the ones here out of a sense of duty or vendetta against the Stranger), and she relishes fighting far more enthusiastically than anyone else in the game. The two most notable features of the Architect are that he really doesn't want to be here and that he is the only non-child character who doesn't fight. It comes across as him respecting her abilities but perhaps also seeing her as a less civilized version of himself.

I'm kinda worried about The Flame, he has the potential to be a real nightmare huh
Re: FURIER - The Edge offers encouraging remarks and compliments.
You may never understand
How the Stranger is inspired
But he isn't always evil
And he isn't always wrong
Though you drown in good intentions
You will never quench the fire
You'll give in to your desire
When the Stranger comes along

How lond did it take to formulate this post?
Re: FURIER - The Flame is an old man with long white hair, a mustache, and a beard.
A while, but they're all just lyrics from the Billy Joel album "The Stranger", so it wasn't that bad. It took some time to think about which lines best fit each guardian, but i randomly got the title track stuck in my head after watching the LP and was listening to the album when i noticed some lyrics randomly fit with certain guardians and decided to see if i could find one for each.

Re: FURIER - The Star is the tenth and final boss of Furi.
I still stand by what I said earlier. The Star is my favorite boss in Furi. It’s also the least “Furi” boss, but given how much I despised melee in this game, I didn’t mind. I would like to see the dev team’s attempt at a bullet hell shooter.

Re: Bernard
Eh, he already got Bernard down 1½ squares on the first go-around, and that was just on a short 15-minute burst of activity, compared to the many hours spent on The Star
While it can drag...I'd be surprised if this takes more than 5 days to clear. Two or three videos, perhaps? It'll be interesting to see whether raocow will finish this or Pikmin, especially given he's close to the end there too. Maybe they finish the same day? Zounds

Re: Bernard
Grats on the win! :D
The hype at the end is just great to see, I'm glad we ended on such a high note.
The difference in energy between beating Mother Brain and beating Mimic; Polygonal is pretty big, so yeah, I'm in agreement on how you decided to approach this, pretty solid spot to end on.
Thanks for LPing this, rao.
