Well, I wrote this stuff yesterday morning to post in the comments section of that video, but I had to deal with a thing irl and then when I got back to my computer I started revising it only to get sidetracked with a dozen other things. So, since we don't have anyone talking about today's stuff here, I guess I'll just post it now.
pastthechao wrote:A bit of belated context for the concept behind today's boss: in codehaus we used to have a few parody chatbots based on the staff that were programmed to interact with each other, quote stuff we said, and in general act like caricatures of us. The only one still active is Roboloe (who only pops up whenever the real Hoeloe is offline) and one of the bot's main quirks is correcting any American English spoken at it to the corresponding British English spelling after the real deal did that a couple times.

Also, Kirby: Planet Robobot has a boss called the Holo Defense API, so like. how could Enjl _not_ seize that opportunity

The boss level's filename, "i could hours about the first level of super bros", is also a quote from Hoeloe (condensed to fit the level filename character limit) which itself inspired another feature of the bot; Roboloe would occasionally say that line, and if encouraged to continue the bot would proceed to frequently post random factoids about the design and creative process behind Super Mario Bros' first level for a literal hour.

I'm not sure if either the spelling corrections or 1-1 mode are still enabled; most of the bots made in codehaus were dummied out bit by bit and eventually retired altogether either because people started to find them obnoxious, circumstances surrounding their inspiration made keeping the bot around feel wrong or insensitive, or the bot broke and either couldn't be maintained or the developer no longer had the time or energy for it. The bot channel, which used to be full of activity, no longer sees much use outside of testing new functionality bots when we add them to the server.

But every night that Hoeloe's able to get some sleep, Robo pops into #beep-boop to announce her arrival, as if calling out to her old friends. She does this only to be met with a cold silence 98% of the time, maybe a one-off heckle if she's lucky, and quietly disappears again when meat!Hoeloe returns the next day...

oh hey it's The Purpose at last, after we first heard about it in the inn!

I wonder what the button does to it, given it outright states it "defeats The Purpose", with suspicious caps. Why do I get the feeling it leads to a boss battle?

So with that last puzzle in Dryland Base, I'm pretty sure all you had to do at the end was use the diagonal-up bubble to hit the down bubble.

Edit because I'm posting these while still watching the video: Not sure what was up with the big complicated room at about 12 minutes in, other than that one of the bubbles changed at one point (going from up-right to up-left) and I wasn't following closely enough to see when it happened or what caused it. But basically, at one point that bubble was pointing at the wall, then somewhere in there it changed and pointed to the "final" area of the room instead. I'm just bringing this up because you didn't seem to notice it changed at all, somebody else might be able to clarify the specifics.

As for the puzzle with the fire symbol in the middle about 13 minutes in, what happened was an up-bubble appeared right on the fire symbol, so you just had to hit both things quickly in either order.

To address an ongoing sentiment; you're not making the game look any harder than it is, it simply is quite hard! The playable has very snappy and precise controls, and the levels demand fairly snappy and precise movement in return

Regarding Volatile Grape Juice and that one part where you asked "how do you time this", I'm pretty sure what you're supposed to do is spin jump out of the orb to spin on the spiky guy rather than letting it hit the wall and putting yourself at the mercy of timing.

Yeah, and the part afterwards where the purple square of coins is above the bubbles is a similar spinjump -> jump -> spinjump shift, using the bubbles for a reset.

Here's what's going on with the joke at the end of the race that confused you.

The one dolphin says "I have to give up two of my words brother", and the next dolphin says "to my". The joke is that the second dolphin got those two words, so they should go in the first dolphin's text box.
