Spectre Knight does outright call him "a child in the guise of a monarch", which does suggest he's supposed to be pretty young. "Talented but inexperienced teenager with big-fish-in-a-small-pond syndrome" seems to be the vibe they're going for here.
That could also simply refer to King Knight's childish nature, and not necessarily him being a literal child.

I mean, the games kind of suggest he's a manchild. So you're not entirely wrong.

Yeah, I second this notion. Specter Knight was clearly insulting King Knight in that scene. He didn't mean "child" in a literal sense, he meant that in the form of "you're immature."

Yeah Shovel Knight spikes have always operated under Mega Man rules. Instadeath, but I-frames will spare you.

I think I personally prefer the Facing the Task version but regardless yeah Lost City has my favorite theme in a game of already such great music.

Oh man, I love FF8! Another to add on the "terrible" games I played as a kid and love. Triple Triad is definitely the best part.

Since the House of Joustus is super early in the world, I might assume it's easier than the random extra people you find scattered around.

EDIT: This is just thinking out loud, I haven't played this game myself and could be very wrong.

Bold move to use hentai titles as a theme, but I respect it.

as for the fire slime, i think if you fight him before calming him down, he just uses nothing but fire slime cards and wins against him dont count, hinting that you need to do something.

raocow, I hate to break it to you, but that's (Chữ) Quốc Ngữ ((𡨸)國語), not Chữ Nôm (𡨸喃). The former is a variant of the Roman alphabet. The latter are Vietnamese additions to Chinese characters (made with the same principles), so they could write their own language instead of just Classical Chinese. Kinda like kokuji in Japanese, but made in the myriads, not the mere hundreds. If you made the title be 進𨖲 (I think?), your warning would not have been incorrect. (And now for someone who actually knows Vietnamese/Chữ Nôm to correct me.)

This was very important to mention. (By the way, I don't know if anyone ever mentioned this, but there was that one Rayman video which included the character മ in its name and you wanted to know what the character was. That's Malayalam script. Precisely, it's pronounced "ma.")

Now for me to watch the video! (Also, I hope you stay feeling better. I know you won't listen, but if there's a need to reduce your workload or take a break from it, the videos can wait. Please.)

With the fire sword you basically become Zero from Megaman X4 and its about as absurd as it sounds. its expensive but thats what the vigor armor is for. Honestly the fancy armors in each campaign are a mistake, because people will choose the Fancy expensive glamour option over stuff over stuff that actively makes the game more fun.

as for the mechanics, every time you bounce refreshes the shoulder bash so its bash , bounce, bash etc.
multiple bounces in a row dont mean multiple bashes in a row. Muscle memory can also mess you up if you tend to constantly bash spam on the ground.

You gotta land on the king's blowhole while spinning, I think! Also I died a lot on the Trouple King boss fight, but honestly just the act of tackling through him and bouncing precariously on him and his fish servants never stopped being really fun for me.

The reason king knight doesn't start with the king knight card is because its likely not his cards. Also for some reason, a pair living in a dirt poor, rat infested house somehow have two treasure chests full of gems, and a garage for a 1 person airship.

A cute observation, all four Joustus Judges and King Knight have the same general set up on their cards; smash with two adjacent double arrows. There are a few other ones where related characters have similar cards, but this is the largest set and I find the most noticeable.

This also makes King Knight the only knight/order of no quarter to have only two arrows on his card.

Sorry for being too eager to spell out the blowhole thing. Got ahead of myself.

Im happy to see you making excellent use of that gem flip. Honestly i never felt bad about using it even though its basically a sure win if you time it right.

For what it's worth, you can cheese a lot of really dumb areas of levels in King Knight with the frog bubble, you can cross humongous distances and it can also save you from pits really well because bubbling resets your side dash.

It's worth keeping on most of the time! (Fire Sword is pretty good for the upward momentum too though!)
