Okami is one of my favorite games of all time, and I've been both eager and nervous at the same time to see how raocow finds it. Two years ago I thought it was a game antithetical to his playstyle, but after seeing his Superstar Saga and Iconoclasts LPs I have a lot more confidence in him enjoying a game like this. I'm sure the next two months will be a blast.

I actually played the original Bit.Trip Runner. I liked the aesthetic, but it just felt really shallow as a concept.

for the record, in normal/casual play i don't think it's possible to softlock yourself, i think that warning is a just-in-case

speedrunners who break the game in various ways have found softlocks but that's their fault for being bad at dog

I've played it on the ps2, wii, and nintendo switch. Unfortunately the wii had terrible

drawing controls

but they are really good on the switch. Haven't tried it on steam but I hope it plays well for raocow here.

Oh man, so that buffoon unleashed evil upon the world by removing the Tsukuyomi, and didn't even take the sword with him? What a waste. Also, I like how Issun's speech bubble tail bounces along with him.

Okami was one of two wolf games I liked that came out in 2006. I haven't touched the game since then, so I've forgotten almost everything about this game, but so far the HD version looks great. Looking forward to this one, like many others. I had been meaning to play the Switch version for a while now, so now's probably a good time to start.

I couldn't get into it myself when I tried it years ago. I can see why it became such a popular game but the gameplay just wasn't all that appealing to me. Hopefully an lp of it will be better in that regard for me.

Most of the game is presented in a visual novel format and the bits that aren't don't really seem like the kind of game raocow would ever lp. Why did that ever end up on the vote list? (Not to say it's bad, I enjoyed it when I played it. Just not a raocow kind of game.)

Royal system, pretty much, somebody selects three games, and raocow picks one of them, as such games can get very unexpected.

Part of the Royal Suggestion system. People selected are free to make their own personal suggestions. It may not mean raocow will play all of them, but it gives him options.

There are rules and caveats in place so that it's not a waste of everyone's time, i.e. no trolling, no All Thes. But just because a VN is in there doesn't mean raocow won't play it. I mean, look, the first Royal Suggestion was Half-Life 2. And we all know he hadn't touched a (modern) FPS before.

Expect this stuff to amp up like whoa when we get past the ASMT re-LP. With some exceptions, I wouldn't be surprised if Royal Suggestion/Public Votes start happening once a month or once every two months.

And it might be even more frequent than that
