La-Mulana 2 - fish. it is a fish. it's true.

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

Maybe it's just me having played the original MSX style version, but that was a really hard version. Especially things like the Tower of the Goddess, where the grail tablet was not at the top of the second tower, but in the middle of the map. This meant you had to climb that second tower every single time you needed to go to the graveyard of the giants or the chamber of confusion. The remake made this kind of thing easier, which was welcomed. But at the same time, having experienced all the jank of the original, I don't feel like 2 ends up being much worse than it in any real situations. It's definitely a difference in opinion though, one that I happen to side with Voltgloss on.

Personally, (spoilers for much later areas)

the Eternal Prison is talked about by so many characters in game as being a real difficult and confusing place, that I'm glad the area lived up to its reputation. Yes, it's annoying to traverse and solve the puzzles in, but I feel like if it wasn't it would be a letdown. Instead it ends up being a frustrating, difficult, but very memorable place for me. It is the endgame, after all.

.

I take more issue with some of the

mantra puzzles, especially the one connecting Takamagahara Shrine and Heaven's Labyrinth.

Yeah I just didn't get it for the longest time which led to frustration and wandering, that's all.

today, raocow makes the same mistaken assumption that I also made on my first playthrough, which walled me for a while until I went back to try "I don't think I can do this yet" things again out of desperation

It is so funny to me because I felt that puzzle was immediately obvious. I would feel smart but then I do things like get stuck because I find doors then forget they exist.

I was already prepared to track how long he goes without solving it. Every first play through I’ve seen has done this.

Is the puzzle for that one chest just "stay there facing away from it for more than a split second"?

Someone's definitely going to spoil that in the youtube comments.

Yes, that's all you have to do if I recall. It stonewalled me (and seemingly everyone else in this thread as well!) because it really, really seems like you need the glove given the block there.

I don't think I've seen anyone get it right away or even quickly on their first blind attempt. Which sucks because after a certain point it gets kinda frustrating when you have a strong idea of where the glove is but think it's not currently obtainable. And when I got it, I had basically done every little bit of progression you can even do before obtaining the glove so it was quite tiring trying to figure out what to do next. I actually ended up having to look that one up in the end.

Well you can add 1 to that count, to me it was one of the biggest non-puzzles in the entire game. Basically went "is this even a puzzle?" then solved it first attempt. Was exactly the type of solution I expected from a La-Mulana game, even without having gotten particularly far in it myself and never seen others' gameplay of LM1 or 2.

fart.

For me I actually tried the proper solution. The issue was it requires you to wait way longer than I was expecting. (Getting juggled around by the enemies and accidentally activating the trap because of it REALLY didn't help matters...) It was one of the first things I tried so I just ended up writing it off as something I couldn't obtain yet.

Yeah that was surprisingly fast! In fact I think that is the fastest I have seen any first playthrough get the glove chest, accident or no.

I don't recall the glove puzzle taking me very long to figure out, but it has been over a year.
