YUMP2 - Marginal Consciousness

this is the place where lps are being talked about. it's important to talk about games being played on the internet.

yeah that second level is the kind of level that makes me not want to play mario romhacks. great ideas! needs like, a half-dozen checkpoints added to be remotely fun
i've honestly never played a video game in my life

I honestly didn't find the level long at all. From the midpoint, you can reach the end in about a minute once you know what to do. That seems reasonable to me.

it ruins my immersion that mario is supposedly "going to heaven" after his actions in the first level

So in YUMP2 38 raocow said he had look up a streamer for the jankman solution, incidently a streamer used a raocow video to figure out shell-shocked steed from YUMP the first after playing the level for over an hour. I found that amusing.

i'm catching up with the series and i'm reading vid 3- oh im sorry, nineteen times two's yt comments and i'm surprised there's a vocal minority that dislikes the puzzles despite not playing them because i'd understand if it was from playing them (like my bf, he outright skipped puzzle levels), they look like they deal massive psychic damage but i dunno stages like cabin fever were a joy to behold.

jankman's final challenge is kind of unclear to the untrained eye though but i wouldn't exactly call it unfair? i'm surprised raocow didn't like, try to step on the only other brown block until after watching a streamer if he found that one of em was a creating block, but apparently he probably thought the creating block was the trigger block so himbocow strikes again i s'ppose OOPS

i'll probably make another smelly poast once i get to today's video. might try to hurriedly catch up with gato roboto too so that doesnt become a nightmare that gets out of control like wandersong, but raocow playing indie games doesn't grab my attention as much

It's probably because puzzle levels in SMW ROM hacks aren't that fun to watch for most people, and this hack has a ton of puzzles.
Unless you're an SMW puzzle enthusiast, you're probably not going to enjoy playing puzzle levels either. I'm not saying that the puzzle levels are bad. They're all extremely well designed. But when a decent portion of the levels in a ROM hack of a platforming game are puzzle levels, it starts wearing away at the sanity of most viewers/players.

Also, raocow saying that watching streamers in order to get solutions is "a time commitment in it of itself" is just silly. Just use the seek bar on Dode's stream VODs. It takes ~3 minutes tops to find what you're looking for.

I mean 3 minutes is pretty significant compared to just googling the level name, which you can do for games played by reasonable people
Well it is a decent hack but sometime its just too repetitif there no level that actually pop in your face and your like oh yeah that level they all ressemble themselves and just monster along the way.

the game is nonlinear and spread across four different parts, if you just scroll too fast you don't know if you missed it or if it's on another one. add trying not to spoil yourself on future things.

also what leet said, it *can* be a lot simpler, it's just not.

Sadly, this is an SMW ROM hack.

Is seeing a blurry little non-descript screenshot of a level in the seek bar really a spoiler.

If it's so non-descript that you can't be spoiled, it's so non-descript that you can't find the level. And vice-versa.

I mean take the Petscop level from earlier, it's a really recognizable look that you are spoiled on the surprise of "wow they did that!" for seeing a screenshot of
